IGLESIA DE SAN ANTONIO – ÉVORA

Fue construida por orden del cardenal Don Enrique, arzobispo de Évora, el edificio data de (1557), es un edificio renacentista, dentro dispone de 3 naves, columnas de granito, es soberbio el retablo de talla dorada del s XVII.

CHURCH OF SÃO ANTONIO – ÉVORA

It was built by order of Cardinal Don Enrique, Archibishop of Évora, the building dates back to (1557), it is a Renaissance style building, it has 3 naves, granite columns, the aristocratic altarpiece of the 17 th century is also superb.

CONVENTO DE SANTA CLARA – ÉVORA

El convento de Santa Clara fue fundado en (1452) por el obispo Vasco Perdigão, dentro pueden admirarse pinturas barrocas, en la bóveda de la iglesia; en el exterior llaman la atención los contrafuertes y los arcos con frontón de granito.

CONVENT OF SANTA CLARA – ÉVORA

The convent of Santa Clara was founded in (1452) by the bishop Vasco Perdigão, inside can be admired Baroque paintings, in the vault of the church; on the outside they call the attention the buttresses and the arches with pediment of granite.

GLESIA DE SAN FRANCISCO – ÉVORA

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

La iglesia de San Francisco es un edificio gótico construido entre (1460) y (1510), destacando la Capilla de los Huesos, en la que se estima se han podido emplear unos 5.000 cadáveres, fue realizada en el siglo XVI por los frailes de San Francisco.

Horario de lunes a sábado de 9:00 a 12:45 y de 14:30 a 17:10 y los domingos y festivos el horario es de 10:00 a 12:45 y de 14:30 a 17:10, entrada general 2 euros.

The church of São Francisco is a Gothic building constructed between (1460) and (1510), stands out the Chapel of the bones, in which it is estimated that some 5,000 corpses have been used, was realized in the 16 th century by the friars of San Francisco.

Es una iglesia de estilo renacentista, en la que destacan los cuatro gigantes, conocidos como “meninos da Graça” que cargan a sus espaldas con las cuatro partes del mundo a las que llegaron los portugueses. Una gran espadaña, un frontón calado y una larga nave de contrafuertes es lo más destacado.

CHURCH OF GRAÇA DE DEUS – ÉVORA

It's a church of Renaissance style, in which they emphasize the 4 giants, known like “meninos da Graça” that load to their backs with the four parts of the world to which the Portuguese arrived. A great bellfry, a pediment and a long nave with buttresses stand out outside.

ERMITA DE SÃO BRAS – ÉVORA

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

La ermita de São Bras es una original edificación, mandada construir por João II en el siglo XV, en el exterior llama la atención la presencia de bonitos y sólidos contrafuertes cilíndricos rematados en chapiteles cónicos, la capilla mayor es de planta poligonal y se revistió con azulejos verdes y blancos de estilo sevillano.

HERMITAGE OF SÃO BRAS – ÉVORA

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The hermitage of São Bras is an original building, erected by João III in the 15 th century. It is very interesting to note the presence of solid cylindrical buttresses topped by conical spiers. The main chapel has a polygonal floor and is covered with green and white tiles of Sevillian style.

ACCESO - ÉVORA

En la zona sur, en el entorno de la Rua de la Republica podemos visitar la Iglesia da Graça de Deus, la iglesia de San Francisco, el Palacio de Don Manuel y la ermita de São Bras. En el centro de la ciudad tenemos la iglesia de San Antonio (Praça do Giraldo), por la calle Serpa Pinto puedes acceder al Convento de Santa Clara, y por la Rua 5 de Outubro, accederemos al templo romano, a la catedral, al museo de Évora y un poco más al Este a la iglesia del Espíritu Santo.

En el sector NW está el acueducto y el mejor tramo de muralla romana.

MINUSVÁLIDOS - ÉVORA

Acceso factible a la iglesia del Espíritu Santo. Muy pequeño son los escalones en la iglesia de la Graça de Deus. Acceso no factible a la iglesia de S. Antonio, al convento de Santa Clara, a la catedral y al palacio de Don Manuel. Visita exterior al acueducto, al templo romano y a la muralla.

   

LOCATION - ÉVORA

In the south in the area of Rua de la Republica we can visit the church of Graça de Deus, the church of São Francisco, the palace of Don Manuel and the hermitage of São Bras. In the center of the city we have the church of Santo Antonio (Praça do Giraldo), on the Serpa Pinto street you can access the Convent of Santa Clara, and by Rua 5 de Outubro we will access to the Roman temple, the cathedral, the museum of Évora and in the east the church of the Espiritu Santo.

In the NW area have the aqueduct & the best section of the Roman wall.

HANDICAPPED - ÉVORA

Feasible access to the church of the Espiritu Santo. Very small are the steps in the church of Graça de Deus. Not feasible access to the church of Santo Antonio, the convent of Santa Clara, the cathedral and the palace of Don Manuel. Ouside visit for the aqueduct, the Roman temple and the wall.
