I. DE STO ANTONIO, (REGUENGOS)

Esta bonita iglesia de Santo Antonio, ubicada en Reguengos de Monsaraz es una iglesia neogótica, casi todo lo visible es del siglo XIX, destacando en el conjunto sobre todo la gran torre coronada con chapitel de pizarra.

CHURCH STO. DOMINGO (REGUENGOS)

This beautiful church of Santo Antonio in Reguengos de Monsaraz is a neo-Gothic church, almost all is vissible is from the 19th century, highlighting the great tower crowned with slate spire.

CASTELO (MONSARAZ)

El Castelo de Monsaraz se data en el siglo XIII, los muros fueron engrosados en el siglo XIV, momento en el que se erigió la torre de homenaje, sin duda lo más original de su interior es el patio de armas, reconvertido en plaza de toros.

CASTLE (MONSARAZ)

The castle of Monsaraz dates from the 13th century, the walls were enlarged in the 14th century at which time the keep was built, without a doubt the most original of its incide is the courtyard, which has been converted into a bullring.

IGLESIA Nª Sª DE LAGOA (MONSARAZ)

La iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Laguna (Lagoa), posiblemente se remonte al siglo XIII, pero sin duda lo visible hoy es posterior, dentro encontramos la tumba del fundador de Monsaraz Don Gomes Martins.

CHURCH Nª Sª DE LAGOA (MONSARAZ)

The church of Nossa Señora da Lagoa (Lake), possibly goes back to the 13th century but without a doubt the visible today is later, inside we find the tomb of the founder of Monsaraz Mr. Gomes Martins.

MURALLA (MONSARAZ)

La muralla se conserva en buen estado y se construyó en sillería y sillarejo, también se data en el siglo XIII; dispone de accesos para subir al adarve, encerrando un poblado de calles empedradas de gran encanto.

VISITA : Acceso libre al adarve.

WALLS (MONSARAZ)

The wall is preserved in good contition and was built in masonry and ashlar, also dating in the 13th century, it has accesses to climb the wall walk, enclosing a town of stone pavement streets of great charm.

CASTELO (MOURAO)

Castillo de planta trapezoidal, con 10 torres cuadradas, tiene 4 puertas de estilo gótico, una de las puertas se uso como campanario, conserva las almenas, en la muralla norte se ubica la vivienda del Alcalde, las pocas bóvedas que se conservan se hicieron con grandes losas de pizarra.

VISITA : Horario de Invierno (último domingo de octubre al último sábado de marzo) de 9:00 a 17:00 y horario de verano (último domingo de marzo al último sábado de octubre) de 9:00 a 20:00 horas.

CASTLE (MOURAO)

Trapezoidal castle, with 10 square towers, has 4 Gothic gates, one of the doors was used like belfry, the battlements are preserved, the Mayor's house is located on the north wall, the few vaults presrved were made with large slabs of slate.

VISIT : Winter opening hours (last Sunday of October to the last Saturday of March) from 9:00 am to 17:00 pm and Sumer time (last Sunday of March to the last Saturday of October) from 9:00 am to 20:00 pm.

ACCESO A MONSARAZ : Mourao, Reguengos y Monsaraz se ubican junto a la N256, esta carretera arranca desde la IP2 (muy cerca de Évora), mientras Mourao se ubica muy cerca de la frontera española (junto a Valverde del Fresno y Jerez de los Caballeros en Badajoz).

En Monsaraz dispones de amplios aparcamientos. En Reguengos es fácil aparcar y en Mourao hay parking junto al Castelo.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS : Con silla de ruedas podrás entrar dentro del Castelo de Mourao, también pasear por algunas calles de Monsaraz (en especial la principal, las laterales pueden tener rampas) y entrar en el Castillo de Monsaraz; pero con silla de ruedas no se puede entrar en la iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Laguna por la escalinata de acceso; no es factible el acceso a la iglesia de Santo Antonio de Reguengos, por la escalinata.

ACCESS TO MONSARAZ : Mourao, Reguengos and Monsaraz are located next to the N-256, this road atrats from IP” (very close to Évora), while Mourao is located very close to the Spanish border (next to Valverde del Fresno and Jerez de los Caballeros in badajoz).

In Monsaraz you have large parking. In Reguengos it is easy to park and in Mourao there is parking next to the Castelo.

ACCESS FOR THE HANDICAPPED : With a Wheelchair you can enter the Castelo of Mourao, also walk through some streets of Monsaraza (specially the main, but the laterals can have ramps) and enter to Monsaraz Castle; but with a wheelchair you can't enter the church of Nossa Senhora da Lagoa by the access staircase; access to the church of Santo Antonio de Reguengos by the stairway is not feasible.
