Chinchilla: Monumentos y turismo


		CHINCHILLA: La localidad de Chinchilla se ubica sobre un cerro que domina la Mancha. La posición estratégica de Chinchilla explica el paso de un gran número de pueblos que han ido dejando diversas muestras patrimoniales, como los iberos, los romanos (calzada), los musulmanes (muralla y baños). Después con los cristianos Chinchilla se ha dotado de un gran número de iglesias (Santa María), del convento de Santo Domingo y se ha reformado por completo su castillo. Inclusive Chinchilla tiene varios museos como el de Arte Sacro y el Nacional de Cerámica.		CHINCHILLA: The town of Chinchilla is located on a hill that dominates La Mancha. 		CHINCHILLA: En la localidad hay poco aparcamiento, no es recomendable adentrarse mucho. Hay un parking junto al convento de Santo Domingo y otro junto a la Plaza de la Mancha. El aparcamiento es gratuito. Vernur colabora con muchos ayuntamientos en la regulación del tráfico de sus municipios, evitando colapsar algunas zonas, lo que provocaría “Turismofobia”, facilitando a la vez el acceso del visitante tanto al aparcamiento como a los centros históricos.		CHINCHILLA: In the locality there is little parking, it is not recommended to enter too far. There is a parking next the convent of Santo Domingo and other next the Plaza de la Mancha. 		CHINCHILLA: El castillo se ubica sobre el cerro que domina el pueblo. La iglesia de Santa María en el centro del pueblo. En el entorno del castillo tenemos las pintorescas casas-cueva con sus chimeneas encaladas y pintadas en blanco. También puedes visitar el convento de Santo Domingo, el palacio de San Jorge y el Hospital. La distancia máxima en los extremos de esta visita es 900 m. La visita se desarrolla por un espacio de cuestas. A los arqueólogos y curiosos recomendamos la visita a los yacimientos de Peñuela y Pozo de la Peña.		CHINCHILLA: The castle is located over the hill that crowned the town. The church of Santa Maria is in the centre of the town. In the surroundings of the castle we have the picturesque cave-houses with their whitewashed and white-painted chimneys. Also you can visit the convent of Santo Domingo, the palace of San Jorge and the hospital. The maximum distance at the ends of this visit are 900 m. The visit takes place through a space with slopes. To archaeologists and curious people we recommend a visit to the sites of Peñuela and Pozo de la Peña.


		CHINCHILLA: En cuanto al firme tenemos (caminos de tierra y piedra). Pavimento recio y compacto. Respecto al desnivel es una zona muy desnivelada. No hay bordillos en las aceras. Con silla de ruedas solo podrás visitar el exterior del castillo (acceso por escaleras). Lamentablemente. La iglesia de Santa María tiene peldaños. Por último el Convento de Santo Domingo tiene también un cerco de madera. La tecnología de las sillas de ruedas ha avanzado mucho, cada vez más ligeras, hay modelos plegables, con todo tipo de adaptaciones, trata de conseguir una moderna, incluso hay ciudades donde se pueden alquilar, contacta con nosotros para añadir información. 		CHINCHILLA: Si te gusta el senderismo Vernur te recomienda que contactes con la oficina de turismo, donde te orientaran al respecto; la oficina de turismo organiza visitas guiadas por el pueblo con personal cualificado, las visitas duran unas 2.30 h. INFO HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El castillo se construyó adaptándose al cerro, tiene planta oval, 2 torres circulares en la entrada, 2 recintos, foso excavado en la roca, puente levadizo, torres circulares en las esquinas. Aunque en el subsuelo se han encontrado elementos romanos, visigodos y árabes, el castillo que vemos es obra de los siglos XV y XVI.

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFO

The castle was built to adapt to the top of the hill, has an oval plan, 2 circular towers at the gate, 2 enclosures, moat excavated in the rock, drawbridge, circular towers in the corners. Although Roman, Visigoth and Arab elements have been found in the subsoil, the castle we see is a work of the 15 th and 16 th centuries.

El edificio combina toda una serie de estilos, predominando en el interior el barroco, que ha cubierto buena parte del anterior templo gótico-mudéjar.

Mientras en la fachada podemos ver la imagen de Santa María en el parteluz, en una entrada gótica; en el s. XVI el antiguo cimborrio gótico es derribado y se construye uno nuevo de estilo renacentista.

The building combines a whole set of styles, predominating inside the Baroque, which has covered much of the original Gothic-Mudéjar temple.

While in the façade we can see the image of Santa María in the mullion, in a Gothic gate; in the 16 th century the old Gothic dome is demolished and a new Renaissance style is built.
