LIÉTOR: La localidad esta encaramada a un promontorio rocoso, un foso natural que le otorga una gran belleza.

Hacia el siglo X en plena dominación musulmana, surgió el pueblo de Liétor, que se ubica sobre un farallón rocoso.

Después pasaría a manos cristianas construyéndose la iglesia de Santiago, la ermita de Belén (con un interior precioso) y el convento de los Carmelitas Descalzos.

Lietor tiene un molino harinero, que es visitable y casonas nobiliarias de bonitas fachadas (Rodríguez de Escobar).

También puedes disfrutar del precioso entorno natural del valle del río Mundo.

Hay una rampa de acceso para acceder a la Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Belén. No hay problemas para que puedas ver la fuente del Pilar y el convento (acceso a nivel de calle). La iglesia de Santiago tiene una amplia escalinata.

There is an access ramp to access the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de Belén. There aren´t problems for you to see the Pilar fountain and the convent (access at street level). The church of Santiago has a wide staircase.

LIETOR: Los alrededores de Liétor tienen una serie de rutas de senderismo de gran belleza, destacando aquellas en las que puedes apreciar el farallón rocoso de la localidad.

En el pueblo puedes visitar las momias de Lietor que se conservan en la cripta del convento de San Juan.

INFOR HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

Sobre una impresionante meseta rocosa, se alza este castillo, que desde el siglo XIII paso a manos cristianas, los primeros muros debieron ser de época musulmana, después fueron restaurados por los cristianos, el recinto tiene 1 Km de perímetro; sabemos que dentro del recinto hubo una iglesia destruida por un rayo, podemos además ver restos de un horno y algunos aljibes.

La ermita se remonta como poco al s. XVI, el edificio es de planta rectangular, con cubierta de madera, el exterior no es especialmente interesante, pero el interior dispone de un bonito ciclo pictórico con pinturas populares pintadas en (1734) y (1735).

En Liétor tienes la iglesia de Santiago y la fuente de El Pilar.

El convento de San Juan o de los Carmelitas Descalzos es una construcción de los siglos XVII-XVIII. La iglesia es de planta de cruz latina con una bonita espadaña de estilo barroco.

En el interior destacamos la magnífica talla de la Virgen del Carmen de Francisco Salzillo. También es interesante la iglesia de Santiago (s. XVIII).
