El poblado ibérico de Libisosa (Lezuza), se data en la Edad del Hierro, al menos desde el siglo V a.C., los muros ibéricos son de mampostería y delimitan 2 calles; tras la conquista romana del siglo III a.C., sufrió una fuerte destrucción en las Guerras Sertorianas, después fue reconstruido y dotado de una muralla en época romana de unos 3 m. de grosor; en el Medievo se construirá una atalaya.

The Iberian town of Libisosa (Lezuza), dates back to the Iron Age, at least from the 5 th century BC, the Iberian walls are rubblework masonry and delimit 2 streets; after the Roman conquest of the 3 rd century BC, it suffered a strong destruction in the Sertorian Wars, after it was rebuilt and endowed with a wall in Roman times of about 3 m. (9,84 ft) of thickness; in the Middle Ages a watchtower was built.

CASTILLO (MUNERA)

El castillo medieval de Munera, es una construcción defensiva que podría remontase a época musulmana. Podemos identificar la torre de homenaje, la barbacana, los fosos y silos; incluso hay restos arqueológicos de la Cultura de las Motillas (Edad del Bronce), restos romanos y andalusíes.

CASTLE (MUNERA)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The medieval castle of Munera, is a defensive building that could be traced back to the Muslim era. We can identify the keep, the barbican, the pits and a warehouse in well; there are also archaeological remains of the Motilla Culture (Bronze Age), Roman and Andalusian remains.

IGLESIA DE S. SEBASTIAN (MUNERA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La iglesia de San Sebastián de Munera es una construcción religiosa que data del siglo XVI; en el exterior destaca la torre-campanario cuadrada del siglo XVI; en el interior destaca la bóveda de crucería del gótico tardío, muy interesante es la capilla de Santa Ana, a Virgen y el Niño del siglo XVI.

The church of San Sebastian of Munera is a religious building dating back to the 16 th century; outside we stand out the square bell-tower of the 16 th century; inside we stand out the ribbed vault of Late Gothic; very interesting is the chapel of Santa Ana, la Virgen y el Niño of the 16 th century.

ACCESO POR CARRETERA

(CAMPOS DE MONTIEL)

UBICACIÓN DE ENCLAVES:

Entre Albacete (A-31) y Manzanares (A-4) tenemos la carretera N-430 que pasa por Ossa de Montiel y Munera, cerca de Munera (en dirección a Albacete) esta el desvío para Lezuza.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVALIDOS:

Con silla de ruedas el acceso no es factible al castillo de Rochafrida; mientras la visita a Libisosa es limitada, aunque con el coche puedes llegar a pie de yacimiento ; hay un pequeño escalón en el acceso a la iglesia de San Sebastián de Munera.

LOCATION

Between Albacete (A-31) and Manzanares (A-4) we have the N-430 road that goes through Ossa de Montiel and Munera, near Munera (in the direction of Albacete) is the detour to Lezuza.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED

With Wheelchair access is not feasible to the castle of Rochafrida; while the visit to Libisosa is limited, although with the car you can reach near at the foot of the site; there is a small step in the access to the church of San Sebastián de Munera.
