CATEDRAL-SE (SILVES)

La catedral de Silves es un edificio antiguo, del siglo XV-XVI. En el conjunto sobresale la piedra roja. La fachada principal es una mezcla de elementos góticos (arco de entrada) y elementos barrocos (frontón curvo); muy bonito es el ábside de ventanales góticos y coronado con almenas, como es típico en Portugal.

VISITA : Horario de lunes a viernes (9:00-13:00 y 14:00-18:00) y sábados (9:00-13:00). Entrada 1€.

CATHEDRAL-SE (SILVES)

The cathedral of Silves is an old building, from the 15-16 th centuries. In the set the red stone stands out. The main façade is a mixture of Gothic elements (entry arch) and Baroque elements (curved pediment); very beautiful is the apse of Gothic windows and crowned wirh battlements, as is typical in Portugal.

VISIT : Opening hours from Monday to Friday (9:00-13:00 and 14:00-18:00) and Saturdays (9:00-13:00) €1 ticket.

CASTELO (SILVES)

El castelo de Silves se ubica en lo alto del cerro que corona la ciudad, es de piedra rojiza y se remonta a época andalusí, es del siglo XI, dentro podemos admirar una muestras de piezas arqueológicas recuperadas en las excavaciones y diversas dependencias, como la cisterna y desde el adarve disfrutar de las vistas de Silves.

VISITA : El Horario de Verano (15 de julio a 15 de septiembre) es de 9:00-19:00 y el horario de invierno (16 de septiembre a 14 de julio) es de 9:00-17:30. Entrada 2,80€

CASTLE (SILVES)

The castle of Silves is located on the top of the hill that crowns the city, it is made of reddish stone and dates back to the Al-Andalus period, it is from the 11 th century, inside we can admire a sample of archaeolocial pieces recovered in the excavations and varios dependencies, such as the cistern and from the wall walk enjoy the views of Silves.

VISIT : The summer time (July 15 to September 15) is from 9:00 to 19:00 and the winter time (September 16 to July 14) is from 9:00 to 17:30 pm Tickets € 2.80.

MUSEO ARQUEOLÓGICO (SILVES)

El Museo Arqueológico de Silves se ubica junto a la antigua muralla de Silves, es un edificio moderno con un original arco de herradura de azulejos de color verde en la entrada, tiene colecciones desde el Paleolítico, pasando por la Edad del Hierro, la época romana, la época árabe hasta el siglo XVII.

VISITA : Horario de 10:00 a 18:00. Entrada 2,10€.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM (SILVES)

The Archaeological Museum of Silves is located next to the ancient wall of Silves, is a modern building with an original horseshoe arch with green tiles at the entrance, and has collections from the Paleolithic, going through the Iron Age, the Roman era, the Arab period until the 17 th century.

VISIT : Opening hours from 10:00 to 18:00. Admission € 2.10.

ACCESO A SILVES : El acceso al Algarbe puede realizarse por la A-22 (peaje electrónico) o por la N-125. El acceso por la N-124-1 se ubica junto a Lagoa.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS : Con silla de ruedas se puede entrar al castillo y visitar algunas espacios, no es factible la visita a la catedral (escalinata) y la rampa de acceso del Museo Arqueológico es muy estrecha.

ACCESS TO SILVES : Access to the Algarve can be done through the A-22 (electronic toll) or the N-125. The access by the N-124-1 is located next to Lagoa.

ACCESS FOR THE HANDICAPPED : With a wheelcgair you can enter the castle and visit some spaces, it is not feasible to visit the cathedral (staircase) and the access ramp of the Archaeological Museum is very narrow.
