CASTRO DE EL CASTELLÓN (COAÑA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El castro dispone de muralla, foso, viviendas circulares y rectangulares, existen algunos edificios de función pública como el llamado “el torreón”, así como, otros edificios tipo sauna, llamados en el NW “Fornos”. La cronología es de la Edad del Hierro. Las excavaciones se remontan al siglo XIX con José Maria Florez (1877), después no se trabajo hasta los años 40' con Antonio García Bellido y Juan Uria, más tarde excavó Francisco Jordá entre (1959 y 1961) y recientemente Elias Carrocera, Ángel Villa y Alfonso Menéndez.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

La tarifa general es de 3,13 €. Miércoles entrada gratuita. Horario de invierno (22 de septiembre a 31 de marzo) de miércoles a domingo es de 10:30 a 15:30 y el horario de verano es de 10:30-17:30 h.

   

HILLFORT OF EL CASTELLÓN (COAÑA)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The hillfort has a wall, moat, circular and rectangular houses, there are buildings of public function such as the so-called “the tower”, as well as other buildings interpreted today as baths, called in NW “Fornos”. Chronology of the Iron Age. Excavations date back to the 19 th century with Jose Maria Florez (1877), after that he did not work until the 40's with Antonio García Bellido and Juan Uria; later Francisco Jordá excavated between 1959 and 1961; and recently Elias Carrocera, Angel Villa and Alfonso Menendez.

TICKETS AND TIMETABLE

The general rate is € 3,13. Wednesday free admision. Winter opening hours (September 22th to March 31th) from Wednesday to Sunday is from 10,30 am to 3,30 pm and summer time is from 10,30 am to 5,30 pm.

 
 

ACCESO

Si accedes por la N-634, cuando cruzas la ría desde Navia al Espín veras la carretera de Boal, es la AS-12, por donde encontrarás el cartel que conduce al castro tras recorrer 6 Km. Si conduces por la A-8 salte en la salida 477 de Navia, que te lleva al pueblo y cruza la ría de Navia.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS

No es fácil pero factible para sillas de ruedas.
   

ACCESS

If you access by N-634, when you cross the estuary from Navia to Espin, you will see the road to Boal, it is the AS-12, where you will find the signpost that go to the hillfort, after 6 Km. (3,7 miles). If you drive by A-8 take the exit 477 of Navia, which go to the town and cross the estuary.

ACCESS FOR THE HANDICAPPED

It isn't easy, but possible on wheelchair.

 
 

CASTRO (PENDIA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El castro de Pendia es un castro astur de la Edad del Hierro con niveles romanos (siglos I y II d.C.), incluso hay restos altomedievales. Dispone de cabañas, restos de saunas castreñas, con un potente dispositivo defensivo con foso y muralla.

HORARIOS- ENTRADA

Acceso y visita libre (ideal para senderistas). El camino unos 1.400 m. es estrecho (para coches), mejor a pie, fuerte desnivel.
   

HILL FORT (PENDIA)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The hill fort of Pendia is an Asturian hill fort of the Iron Age with Roman levels (1 st and 2 nd century AD), there are evenlate medieval remains. It has cottages, remains of Celtic baths, with a powerful defensive device with a moat and wall.

TICKETS AND TIMETABLE

Access and free visit (ideal for walkers). The roud around 1,400 m. it's narrow (for cars), better on foot, strong uneevenness.

 
 

CASTRO (ILLANO)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El Castro o El Castelón de Illano es un castro prerromano de la Edad del Hierro (siglos IV-I a.C.), reocupado en época romana; tiene una potente muralla y construcciones domesticas en el interior. Cubierto por mucha vegetación.

HORARIOS- ENTRADA

Acceso y visita libre (ideal para senderistas). Muy cerca de la carretera.

El Castro or El Castelón de Illano is a pre-Roman fort of the Iron Age (4 th -1 st century BC), reoccupied in Roman times; it has a powerful wall and domestic buildings inside. Covered by a lot of vegetation.

Access and free visit (ideal for walkers). Very close to the road.

 
 

CASTRO (GRANDAS DE SALIME)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El Castro de San Martín puede remontarse a la Edad del Bronce, siendo ocupado también en la Edad del Hierro y en época romana; al parecer fue abandonado tras un terremoto.

HORARIOS- ENTRADA

Horario de Verano (Junio-Septiembre) de martes a sábado (13:00, 17:00 y 18:00); mientras el resto del año (Octubre-Mayo) de martes a sábado es de 13:00 y 17:00. Solo se permiten las visitas guiadas. La entrada son 4 €.

The hill fort of San Martín can be dated to the Bronze Age, being also occupied in the Iron Age and in Roman times; apparently it was abandoned after an earthquake.

TICKETS AND TIMETABLE

Summer timetable (June-September) from Tuesday to Saturday (13:00, 17:00 ans 18:00); while the rest of the year (October-May) from Tuesday to Saturday) is from 13:00 and 17:00. Only guided tours are allowed. Admission is €4.
