CASTILLO DE ARENAS DE SAN PEDRO

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El castillo del Condestable Dávalos o de la Triste Condesa, es un bellísimo edificio con elementos defensivos con otros palaciegos, se data en los siglos XIV y XV.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

El horario de la Oficina Municipal de Turismo (calle Triste Condesa nº 1), es de martes a domingo de 10:00-15:00 (lunes cerrado), y del 4 de abril al 20 de junio abre también el sábado por la tarde de 17:00-19:00. Hay visitas guiadas (10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00 y 14:00). Entrada 3 €.

ACCESO

A Arenas de San Pedro se accede por la N-502 (Ávila-Talavera de la Reina). En el casco histórico de Arenas de San Pedro se ubica el castillo, no muy lejos del río Arenal.

ACCESO A MINUSVÁLIDOS

Visita no factible con silla de ruedas a las dependencias superiores del castillo.

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The castle of Condestable Dávalos or of the Sad countess is a building with defensive and palatial elements, is dated in 14 th and 15 th centuries.

TICKETS AND TIMETABLE

The timetable of the Municipal Tourism Ofice (Triste Condesa nº 1 street), is from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm (Monday closed), and from 4 April to 20 June the Saturday from 5 pm to 7 pm. Manage Guided visits (10 am, 11 am, 12 pm, 1 pm and 2 pm). Ticket is €3.

LOCATION

To Arenas de San Pedro you can access by N-502 (Ávila-Talavera de la Reina). In the historical center of Arenas de San Pedro is located the castle, near of the Arenal river.

ACCESS FOR THE HANDICAPPED

Not suitable visit for wheelchair users in the upper rooms of the castle.

IGLESIA DE LA ASUNCIÓN DE ARENAS DE SAN PEDRO

La iglesia parroquial de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, es un edificio datado en el siglo XIV gótico, de torre renacentista.

La visita es libre y gratuita, pero también puedes concertar una visita guiada.

ACCESO

Acceso por N-502 (Ávila-Talavera de la Reina). En el casco histórico de Arenas de San Pedro se ubica la iglesia muy cerca del puente.

Acceso factible para silla de ruedas.

The Church of Nuestra Señora de La Asunción, is a building dated in the 14th cenury, Gothic, with Renaissance tower.

No menos interesante resulta el puente medieval, tiene 3 arcos de medio punto y son de sillarejo.

		CASTRO DE EL RASO (RASO DE CANDELEDA) INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA El Raso es un castro celtibérico, datado en los siglos III-I a.C.; una fuerte muralla rodea el yacimiento. Las viviendas tienen estructura estándar, con porche de entrada con bancos, vestíbulo, y 1 o 2 dependencias más, para culminar en una zona de cocina, con bancos y hogar. Alguna de las cabañas ha sido completamente restaurada. Excavado por F. Fernández Gómez. ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS No hay horarios, entrada gratuita. ACCESO Para acceder hay que coger la N-502 (Ávila-Talavera de la Reina), después hay que pasar Arenas de San Pedro y tras este pueblo pasar Candelada y dirigirse a El Raso, desde donde ya hay indicaciones desde el pueblo. ACCESO A MINUSVÁLIDOS Solo la parte baja del yacimiento es accesible a sillas de ruedas.				HILLFORT OF EL RASO (RASO DE CANDELEDA) HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION The Raso is a Celtiberian hillfort, dated in 3 rd -1 st centuries BC; a strong wall surrounds the site. The houses have standard structure, with an entrance porch, with benches, lobby and 1 or 2 further outbuildings, to culminate in a kitchen area, with benches and a hearth. Some cabin was completely restored. Excavated by F. Fernández Gómez. TICKETS AND TIMETABLE No timetables, no tickets. LOCATION To get there, take the N-502 (Ávila-Talavera de la Reina), then pass by Arenas de San Pedro and by Candeleda and go to El Raso, where there are already indications from the village (pink signpost). ACCESS FOR THE HANDICAPPED Only the lower parte of the site is accessible for wheelchairs.
