MURALLAS (SERPA)

Las murallas medievales de Serpa se datan en el siglo XIII, disponía de una serie de puertas de acceso (5 en total) como la de Moura y la de Beja, que son las únicas que se conservan.

PUERTA DE MOURA (SERPA)

La puerta de Moura es una obra de sillarejo, dispone de dos cubos semicirculares, con almenas, la puerta es un arco ojival que nos lleva al siglo XIV. No hay que olvidar la puerta de Beja de idéntica estructura.

GATE OF MOURA (SERPA)

The gate of Moura is a work of rubblework, it has semicircular towers, with battlements, the door is an ogival arch that takes us to the 14 th century. Don't forget the door of Beja of same structure.

CASTELO (SERPA)

En el siglo XIII el castillo paso a manos cristianas, reparándose notablemente, pero en el siglo XVIII sufrió duros bombardeos, solo sobrevive bien la alta torre de homenaje.

IGLESIA DEL CARMO (SERPA)

La iglesia de El Carmo de Serpa es una pequeña iglesia de estética barroca, del siglo XVIII, con frontón curvo, coronado con una cruz, la fachada esta flanqueada por 4 pilastras, coronadas en 2 pequeños pináculos dieciochescos.

CHURCH OF CARMO (SERPA)

The church of El Carmo of Serpa is a small Baroque church of the 18 th century, with curved pediment, crowned with a cross, the facade is flanked by 4 pilasters, crowned in 2 small 18 th century pinnacles.

TORRE DEL RELOJ, (SERPA)

La torre del reloj de Serpa es un bonito edificio de planta cuadrada, es de sillarejo, salvo el coronamiento de sillería de gran calidad donde se ubican los pináculos gotizantes, el campanario y el reloj.

TOWER OF THE CLOCK (SERPA)

Serpa's clock tower is a beutiful building with a square floor plan, it is made of ashlar, except for the crowning of high-quality ashlar where the pinnacles are located, the bell tower and the clock.

ACUEDUCTO, (SERPA)

Sobre la muralla y junto a la puerta de Beja, puede verse un excepcional acueducto, construido en el siglo XVI, en un extremo puede verse el dispositivo mecánico de una noria, que pertenecía al palacio de los Condes de Ficalho, datado en el siglo XVII.

AQUEDUCT (SERPA)

On the wall and next to the gate of Beja, you can see an exceptional aqueduct, built in the 16 th century, at one end you can see the mechanical device of a wheel, which belonged to the palace of the Counts of Ficalho, dated in the 17 th century.
