CANCHO ROANO (ZALAMEA)

Tenemos un edificio de planta cuadrangular, con habitaciones para vivienda (estancias del NE), una gran sala central o salón del trono, talleres y almacenes (3 estancias del SW). Dispone de Centro de Interpretación. Cronología ibérica del siglo VI a.C., según las excavaciones de los años 80'.

VISITA : El horario de verano de lunes a sábados es de 10:00-14:00 y de 17:00-20:00, domingos de 10:00-14:00.El horario de invierno es de lunes a sábados de 10:00-14:00 y de 16:00-18:00, domingos de 10:00-14:00.

También hay que mencionar el “distylo” de Zalamea de la Serena, dos columnas romanas de orden corintio, de cronología romana del siglo II d.C.

VISITA : La Oficina de Turismo abre de 10:00-14:00 y de 16:00-19:30, los domingos solo abre por la mañana y los lunes solo algunos por la tarde, sede en la calle Hermanas de la Cruz y teléfono 664.494.094.

CASTILLO (ZALAMEA)

El castillo de Zalamea de la Serena se data en el siglo XV, quizás se erigió sobre una fortaleza árabe, conserva 4 torres y ha perdido el lienzo del lado occidental, es un edificio de sillarejo con sillería en los puntos clave (vanos esquinas), la torre de homenaje tenía la puerta de acceso sobreelevada respecto al adarve; también es curiosa la cisterna del patio.

CASTLE (ZALAMEA)

The castle of Zalamea de la Serena dates back to the 15 th century, perhaps it was built on an Arab fortress, it has 4 towers and it has lost a wall on the wetern side, it is a rubblework building with ashlar masonry at the key points (vain corners), the keep had the access gate raised above the wallwalk; the cistern of the patio is also curious.

IGLESIA DEL STO. CRISTO (ZALAMEA)

Mientras la iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Milagros es un edificio muy original y ecléctico, suma de aportaciones de los siglos XIII, XV y XVII, en el interior sobresale la bóveda de crucería estrellada, tiene varias puertas de acceso de estilo románico y gótico.

VISITA : Sin horarios, ni entradas. Los horarios de misas de la iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Milagros en verano es a las 20:30 y en invierno a las 19:30.

CHURCH OF SANTO CRISTO (ZALAMEA)

While the church of Nuestra Señora de los Milagros is a very original and eclectic building, addition of contributions from the 13th, 15 th and 17 th centuries, inside the starry ribbed vault stands out, it has several access doors in Romanesque and Gothic style.

VISIT : No timetable, no tickets. The timetable of masses of the church of Nuestra Señora de los Milagros in Summer is at 20:30 and in winter at 19:30.

ACCESO A ZALAMEA :

Acceso desde Don Benito por la EX346 que lleva a Quintana de la Serena y aquí coger la EX114 que va directo a Zalamea de la Serena; el acceso al yacimiento se sitúa en el PK 3 de la EX114.

El distylo se ubica en la Plaza de la Constitución junto a la iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Milagros.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS :

Visita viable para sillas de ruedas a Cancho Roano (aunque no podrás subir a la plataforma superior).

ACCESS TO ZALAMEA :

Access from Don Benito by the EX-346 that leads to Quintana de la Serena and here take the EX-114 that goes directly to Zalamea de la Serena; the access to the site is located in the point 3 Km of EX-114.

The distylo is located in Plaza de la Constitución next to the church of Nuestra Señora de los Milagros.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED :

Feasible visit for wheelchairs to Cancho Roano (although you will not be able to climb to the upper platform).

TIERRA DE BARROS
