TEATRO ROMANO DE MEDELLÍN

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El teatro romano es una de las mejores atracciones monumentales, conserva muy bien la cavea (graderio) y parte del escenario; al parecer data del siglo I d.C. y se ideo para albergar más de 3.000 espectadores.

ACCESO

Medellín se encuentra muy próxima a la ciudad de Mérida (ciudad ubicada entre la A-66 y la A-5), por la A-5 se accede por la salida 310. El teatro se ubica en la ladera del castillo.

El teatro gracias a la disposición de pasarelas si es visitable para silla de ruedas.

LOCATION

Medellín is very close to the city of Mérida (city located between A-66 and A-5), by the A-5 is accessed by exit 310. The theater is located on the slope of the castle.

The theater thanks to the placing of walkways is visitable for wheelchairs.

		CASTILLO DE MEDELLÍN INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA El castillo de Medellín parece ser obra andalusí del siglo X, de este momento debe ser el aljibe, más tarde paso a manos cristianas (s. XIII), un muro interior divide la fortaleza en dos espacios, destacando las portadas de estilo gótico y renacentista. No menos interesante es el puente de Medellín sobre el Guadiana de cronología moderna pues data del siglo XVII. ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS El horario de verano del castillo medieval de Medellín es de martes a viernes es de 17:30-20:00, sábado, domingos y festivos es de 11:00-13:30 y de 17:30-20:00. El horario de invierno es de martes a viernes de 15:30-18:00, sábados, domingos y festivos es de 11:00-13:30 y de 15:30-18:00; la entrada general es de 2 €. Junto al teatro romano tenemos la iglesia de Santiago (siglo XIII, con reformas del siglo XV y XVI) en el interior se ubica el Centro de Interpretación del Parque Arqueológico de Medellín y más alejadas tenemos las iglesias de San Martín (siglos XIII-XV) que conserva la pila bautismal donde se bautizo Hernán Cortes y la de Santa Cecilia (ya en el centro de Medellín) de estilo gótico y del siglo XVI.

		RUINAS DE LACIMURGA NAVALVILLAR DE PELA) INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA Se trata de la antigua ciudad romana de Lacimurga, que fue descubierta en el siglo XIX y excavada en los 1990'; el yacimiento tiene estructuras prerromanas y romanas; conservándose muros de un complejo termal romano con su caldarium, tepidarium y frigidarium; viviendas y una cisterna. Lamentablemente su abandono le ha valido su inclusión en la Lista Roja de Patrimonio. ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS Aunque el yacimiento esta cercado (visita no permitida), la valla esta muy estropeada; si lo visitáis, respetad las ruinas. ACCESO En el paraje conocido como Cogollado se ubican las ruinas de Lacimurga, en el río Guadiana, junto al embalse de Orellana. Se accede muy bien por la EX115, en el tramo de Navalvillar de Pela y Orellana de la Sierra, por un camino con cartelería. ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS Acceso no factible con silla de ruedas.				REMAINS OF LACIMURGA (NAVALVILLAR DE PELA) HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION It is the ancient Roman city of Lacimurga, which was discoveres in the 19 th century and excavated in the 1990's; the site has pre-Roman and Roman structures; preserves buildings, like a thermal complex, with caldarium, tepidarium and frigidarium are recognized; houses and a large cistern. Unfortunately its abandonment suppose its inclusion in the Red List of Heritage. TICKETS AND TIMETABLE Although the site is fenced (visit not allowed), the fence is very damaged; if you visit it respect the ruins. LOCATION In the place known as Cogolludo are located the ruins of Lacimurga, on the Guadiana River; near the Orellana reservoir, It is accessed very well by the EX-115, in the section of Navalvillar de Pela and Orellana de la Sierra, by the road with signage.
