PORTA DOS CABALEIROS (VISEU)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La puerta de los caballeros (Porta dos Cabaleiros) de Viseu, es una de las 7 puertas que tenía la antigua muralla medieval, la construcción se da a finales del siglo XV; la puerta consta de un arco apuntado, gótico; con una hornacina donde se encuentra una imagen de San Juan Bautista, justo al lado puede contemplarse una fuente del siglo XVIII.

The gate of the Knights (Porta dos Cabaleiros) of Viseu, is one of the 7 doors that had the old medieval wall, the building is given at the end to the 15 th century; the door consists of a pointed arch Gothic; with a niche where you can find an image of San Juan Bautista, right next to it you can find an image of San Juan Bautista, right next to it you can see an 18 th century fountain.

CAPILLA LOS REMEDIOS (VISEU)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La capilla de nuestra señora de los Remedios es un edificio datado en el siglo XVIII, de diseño muy sobrio, planta poligonal; en el interior podemos ver la virgen y una decoración de azulejos; en sus inmediaciones podemos admirar además una puerta de la muralla y una bonita fuente.

CHAPEL OF REMEDIOS (VISEU)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The chapel of Nossa Senhora de los Remedios is a building dating from the 18 th century, very sober design, polygonal plan; inside we can see the virgin and a tile decoration; in its environs we can also admire a door of the wall and a beautiful fountain.

CATEDRAL (VISEU)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La catedral o sé de Viseu se ubica sobre una antigua basílica suevo-visigoda, como otras catedrales el templo tiene diversos estilos arquitectónicos, en la fachada destacan 2 torre-campanario que son uno del Medievo y otro una reconstrucción del siglo XVII, mientras el cuerpo central parece un retablo de piedra.

HORARIOS- ENTRADA

Horario los laborables (8:00-12:00 y 14:00-19:00) y fines de semana (9:00-12:00 y 14:00-19:00), cierra el jueves y el sábado por la mañana. Contacto 351.232.436.065

CATHEDRAL (VISEU)

The cathedral or Se of Viseu is located on an old Suevan-Visigothic basilica, like other cathedrals the temple has different architectural styles, on the facade there are 2 bell tower that are one of the Middle Ages and another a reconstruction of the 17 th century, while the Central section looks like a stone altarpiece.

IGLESIA MISERICORDIA (VISEU)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La iglesia de la misericordia de Viseu es un edificio del siglo XVIII, la fachada es de estilo rococó, tiene 2 altas torre-campanario, en el centro por una escalinata se accede al cuerpo central con una puerta de arco mixtilíneo, con heráldica regia y un frontón partido coronado con una cruz, el interior es muy sobrio de estilo neoclásico.

CHURCH MIERICORDIA (VISEU)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The church of Miericordia of Viseu is a building of the 18 th century, the facade is Rococo style, has 2 tall tower-belfry, in the center by a staircase you access the central section with a door of mixtilinear arch, with Royal heraldry and a split pediment crowned with a cross, inside is very sober of neoclassical style.

ACCESO POR CARRETERA

(VISEU)

UBICACIÓN DE ENCLAVES:

Viseu se ubica en la A-25 (Aveiro-España), tiene buena conexión con Vila Real (A-4) y esta cerca de Coimbra (N-2 y N110).

Viseu no es una ciudad muy grande, una circunvalación rodea toda la ciudad, con muchas rotondas.

Todos los monumentos de la ciudad de Viseu se encuentran en el centro histórico sobre un pequeño cerro.

LOCATION OF SITES

Viseu is located on the A-25 (Aveiro-Spain), has good connection with Vila Real (A-4) and is near Coimbra (C-2 and N-110).

Viseu isn't a big city, a large ring surround all the city, with a lot of roundabouts.

All the nice monuments of the city of Viseu are locate in the historic center over a little hill.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVALIDOS:

Acceso no factible para silla de ruedas a la catedral, y a la iglesia de la Misericordia, es posible en la capilla (escalones), y visita exterior a la puerta de los caballeros.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED

Access not feasible for wheelchair to the cathedral, and to the church of Miericordia, it is possible in the chapel (steps), and outside visit to the door of the knights.
