La iglesia de Santa María de Barro (Resende), se remonta al románico tardío (se conservan bonitos capiteles), pero el exterior es más moderno, construido en sillería; así la fachada es gótica y la torre es del siglo XIX.

The church of Santa María de Barro (Resende), dates back to the late Romanesque period (beautiful capitals are preserved), but the outside is more modern, built in ashlar masonry; so the façade is Gothic and the tower is from the 19 th century.

MOSTEIRO DE CARQUERE (RESENDE)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El monasterio de Santa Maria de Cárquere se remonta al siglo XI, fue mandado construir por el conde Don Enrique, pero los trabajos se han dilatado en el tiempo; el templo es manuelino, destacando la capilla mayor, de estilo gótico (siglo XIII); en el interior pueden admirarse bellas tallas del siglo XIV.

MONASTERY OF CARQUERE (RESENDE)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The monastery of Santa Maria de Cárquere dates back to the 11 th century, was built by Count Don Henriques, but the works have been dilated in time; the temple is Manueline, emphasizing the Mayor chapel, of gothic style (13 th century), inside you can admire beautiful carvings from the 14 th century.

QUINTA DA FERVENÇA (CINFAES)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

De la Quinta da Fervença (Cinfaes) puede admirarse solamente la portada, que se data en el siglo XVIII; que es un muro de sillería con puerta de arco rebajado, heráldica con corona, con 2 pilastras a los lados coronándose el conjunto con un “frontón” curvilíneo.

Visita solo exterior.

QUINTA DA FERVENÇA (CINFAES)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

Of Quinta da Fervença (Cinfaes) you can admire only the cover, which dates back to the 18 th century; which is a masonry wall with a segmental arch, heraldic with a crown, with 2 pilasters on the sides, crowning the whole with a curvilinea “pediment”.

UBICACIÓN DE ENCLAVES:

Resende, Barro y Cinfaes se encuentran en la N-222, junto al río Duero entre Castelo de Paiva (N-224) y Peso da Regua (A-24).

La iglesia de Santa María de Barro esta junto a la carretera; la Quinta da Fervença esta en el mismo pueblo y el monasterio de Santa María de Carquere a las afueras, y bien señalizado.

LOCATION OF SITES

Resende and Cinfaes are located on the N-222, next to the Douro River between Castelo de Paiva (N-224) and Peso da Regua (A-24).

The church of Santa Maria de Barro is located next the road; The Quinta da Fervença is in the same villlage and the monastery of Santa María de Carquere is outside and well signlized.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVALIDOS:

Acceso factible al monasterio de Carquere, pero la quinta da Fervença solo se visita la fachada exterior; mientras la iglesia de Santa María de Barro tiene algunos escalones.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED

Feasible access to the monastery of Carquere, but the Quinta da Fervença, only the outside facade is visited; while the church of Santa María of Barro has some steps.
