Es precioso el barrio típico de Beira Mar, donde se conserva muy bien la arquitectura típica. Se cree que Aveiro nació en la Edad Media gracias a las salinas, la pesca y el comercio.

Entre los principales monumentos podemos mencionar la catedral, la iglesia de la Misericordia y el museo de Arte Nova. También tiene un patrimonio natural envidiable, como vemos en la playa Da Barra y la playa de Costa Nova; también destacamos la bonita duna de Sao Jacinto.

AVEIRO: En la localidad hay poco aparcamiento, no es recomendable adentrarse mucho. Hay un parking pequeño, junto al Museo de Aveiro (P1), es de pago.

Un poco más lejos tienes el Parking dos Aflitos (P2) gratuito.

Vernur colabora con muchos ayuntamientos en la regulación del tráfico de sus municipios, evitando colapsar algunas zonas, lo que provocaría “Turismofobia”, facilitando a la vez el acceso del visitante tanto al aparcamiento como a los centros históricos.

AVEIRO: Una excursión recomendable es la visita a Aveiro desde los barquitos que recorren los canales, hay rincones preciosos y la perspectiva es única.

El Jardín do Rossio con sus columpios para niños, árboles y bancos es un punto muy interesante para descansar del camino; quizás más interesante sea el Parque de San Antonio y aún más el Parque del Infante Dom Pedro, que con sus jardines, pérgolas, estanque y merendero es una maravilla.

AVEIRO: A highly recommended excursion is the visit to Aveiro from the little boats that run through the canals, there are beautiful corners and the perspective is unique.

INFO HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La catedral de Aveiro es un edificio fundado en el siglo XV, pero tan solo se conserva el cruceiro de Santo Domingo y algún muro de la época gótica.

Tras numerosas restauraciones hoy predomina el estilo barroco; destacando las capillas (Misericordia, Rosario y Corazón de Jesús), la fachada con columnas salomónicas y el frontón con volutas son muy originales.

INFO HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El monasterio de Jesús (Aveiro) es un edificio que se remonta al siglo XV, pero gran parte del mismo ha sido reformado, la fachada es del siglo XVIII. Muy espectacular es la capilla principal de la iglesia de Jesús de este monasterio, con tallas, dorados, azulejos y un gran órgano.

Dispone de una amplia colección de pinturas, muebles, esculturas, joyas, porcelanas, cerámicas etc…

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La iglesia de la Misericordia (Aveiro) es un edificio que data de los siglos XVI-XVII, diseñado por el italiano Filipo Terzio, pero la ejecución fue realizada por el portugués Manuel Azenha.

Fuera destaca la fachada de azulejos azules del siglo XIX, así como la portada barroca. En el interior destaca el altar mayor con su retablo y los paneles de azulejos del siglo XVI.

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The Misericordia church (Aveiro) is a building that dates back to 16-17 th centuries, it was designed by the Italian Filipo Terzio, but was executed by the Portuguese Manuel Azenha.

Outside we stand out the façade with blue tiles from 20 th century, and the baroque gate. Inside we stand out the Mayor altar with its altarpiece and the tile panels dated in 16 th century.

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La capela de Sao Gonçalinho (Aveiro) se ubica en el genuino barrio de Beira-Mar, tiene planta hexagonal, cubierta con una majestuosa cúpula, podemos datarla en el siglo XVIII.

Dentro sobresalen el altar mayor y la decoración al más puro estilo barroco-tardio.
