DOLMEN DE LAS ARNILLAS (MORADILLO DE SEDANO)

Quizás el más famoso sea el dolmen de Las Arnillas (Moradillo de Sedano), destacando por su espectacularidad; es un sepulcro de corredor de 25 m. de diámetro, con cámara circular. Sedano tiene aula didáctica.

DOLMEN OF LAS ARNILLAS (MORADILLO DE SEDANO)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

Perhaps the most famous is the dolmen of Las Arnillas (Moradillo de Sedano), for its spectacularity, is a corridor grave of 25 m (82 ft) of diameter, with circular burial chamber. In Sedano there is an Archaeological Point.

LA CABAÑA (SARGENTES DE LORA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Se trata de un dolmen de sepulcro de corredor con cámara circular de unos 3 m. de diámetro, mientras el pasillo mide unos 5 m. de longitud; se encontraron restos de unas 13 personas, datado en la segunda mitad del IV milenio a.C. en el Neolítico.

LA CABAÑA (SARGENTES DE LORA)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

It is a corridor sepulcher with a circular chamber of about 3 meters (9,8 ft) of diameter, while the corridor measures about 5 m (16,4 ft) of length; were found remains of about 13 persons, with lytic pieces, was dated on 4 th millennium BC in the Neolithic.

LA COTORRITA (PORQUERA DE BUTRÓN)

El dolmen de La Cotorrita se dato en tiempos neolíticos por el ajuar de 15 personas, es un sepulcro de corredor con cámara poligonal, con una orientación este-oeste. En la zona de Sedano hay más de 30 dólmenes.

LA COTORRITA (PORQUERA DE BUTRÓN)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The dolmen of La Cotorrita was dated in Neolithic times by the pieces of 15 persons, is a sepulcher of corridor wiyh polygonal chamber, with an east-west otientation. In the area of Sedano there are more than 30 dolmens.

ACCESO - SEDANO

ARNILLAS: Coge la N-623 (Burgos-Santander) y en el tramo entre San Felices de Rudrón y Tubilla del Agua se ubica el desvío para Sedano y Moradillo de Sedano. Acceso complicado, pero con abundante cartelería.

CABAÑA: Coge la N-623 (Burgos-Santander) y justo en San Felices de Rudrón arranca la carretera para Sargentes de Lora, hay carteles.

COTORRITA: Coge la N-623 (Burgos-Santander) y justo a 1 Km. al norte del enclave de Escalada (dirección Santander), coger el desvío para Pesquera de Ebro, el cartel esta situado en la misma carretera. La pista no es muy buena, pero es practicable. También se puede acceder desde la CL-629 (por aquí la carretera es mejor).

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS

Apto para sillas de ruedas, pero el terreno inmediato es muy irregular y complicado para sillas de ruedas.

LOCATION - SEDANO

ARNILLAS: Take N-623 (Burgos-Santander) and in the section between San Felices de Rudrón and Tubilla del Agua is located the detour to Sedano and Moradillo de Sedano. Access complicated, but with abundant signage.

CABAÑA: Take N-623 (Burgos-Santander) and right in S. Felices de Rudrón starts the road to Sargentes de la Lora, there are signpostes.

COTORRITA: Take the N-623 (Burgos-Santander) and just 1 Km (0,62 miles) north of the town of Escalada (direction Santander), take the detour to Pesquera de Ebro, the signpost is located on the same road. The track isn't very good, but practicable. You can also access from the CL-629 (here the road is better).

ACCESS FOR THE HANDICAPPED

Suitable for wheelchairs. But the near firm is very irregular and complicated for wheelchairs.

ORBANEJA DEL CASTILLO

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Orbaneja tiene iglesia de estilo románico, muy reformada a lo largo del tiempo, con una alta torre campanario y arcos de medio punto; pero el paisaje circundante de crestas calcáreas y bonitas cascadas es lo más fotografiado por los turistas.

Coger la N-623 (Burgos-Santander) y desde la localidad de Escalada coger el desvío señalizado para Orbaneja.

Son calles con fuerte pendiente no es fácil, sin ayuda para usuarios de sillas de ruedas.

TOWN OF ORBANEJA DEL CASTILLO

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

Orbaneja has a church of Romanesque style, very reformed throughout the time, with a high belltower and semicircular arches; but the surrounding landscape of limestone rodges and waterfals is most photographed by tourists.

EREMITORIO DE S. MIGUEL (PRESILLAS DE BRICIA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El Eremitorio de San Miguel, es un complejo excavado en la roca, de dos plantas; en el que sobresale un ámbito eclesiástico: La iglesia, con su ábside, altares y hornacinas, datación siglo X. Cerca está la “Cueva de la Vieja” con dos pilas bautismales.

Coge la N-623 (Burgos-Santander) y desde Escalada coge el desvío para Orbaneja; una vez llegados a San Martín de Elines coger la carretera de Santa María de Hito y Presillas. Deja el coche en Presillas y anda unos 700 m.

SAN MIGUEL HERMITAGE (PRESILLAS DE BRICIA)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The hermitage of San Miguel, is a complex excavated in the rock, of two plants; in which an ecclesiastical area stands out: The church, with its apse, altars and niches, dated in 10 th century. Nearby we can find “La Cueva de la Vieja” with two baptismal piles.

Take the N-623 (Burgos-Santander) and from Escalada take the detour to Orbaneja; later in San Martín de Elines take the road of Santa María de Hito and Presillas. We left the car in Presillas and walk about 700 m (2,296).
