REAL MONASTERIO (GUADALUPE)

El monasterio de Guadalupe fue declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad en (1993); suele dividirse en 4 partes: la basílica, el auditórium, el claustro mudéjar y el claustro gótico; el complejo es de estilo gótico-mudéjar y esta flanqueado por 8 torres.

La Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, tiene una espectacular fachada, la sillería de coro es de 2 pisos y su traza se data en el siglo XVIII; en el monasterio sobresale la Sala Capitular datada en el siglo XV. El monasterio alberga además, numerosos lienzos del genial Zurbarán (La Apoteosis de San Jerónimo).

Quizás una de las imágenes más conocidas, es la de su bellísimo claustro mudéjar, “El claustro de los milagros”, data del siglo XIV, con templete gótico del siglo XV.

VISITA : La entrada general son 5 €, hay visitas guiadas y el horario de lunes a domingo es de 9:30-13:00 y de 15:30-18:00.

   

ROYAL MONASTERY (GUADALUPE)

The monastery of Guadalupe was declared a World Heritage Site in (1993). It is usually divided into 4 parts: The basilica, the auditorium, the Mudejar cloister and the Gothic cloister, the complex is Gothic-Mudejar style and is flanked by 8 towers.

The church of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe has a spectacular façade, the choir stalls are 2 floors and its trace is dated in the 18 th century; In the monastery the Chapter house dates from the 15 th century. The monastery also houses numeorus canvases of the great Zurbaran (The Apotheosis of Saint Jeronimo).

Perhaps one of the best known images is the beautiful Mudejar cloister, “The coister of the Miracles” dating from the 14 th century with a Gothic temple of the 15 th century.

VISIT : Admission is €5, there are guided tours and timetable are from Monday to Sunday from 9:30 to 1:00 and from 3:30 to 6:00.

 
 

PLAZA MAYOR (GUADALUPE)

La plaza mayor de Guadalupe es una magnífica invitación a perderse por este bonito pueblo cacereño, sus soportales son acogedores cuando uno quiere resguardarse del duro verano extremeño; en el centro un pilón (quizás del siglo XVIII) con un surtidor en forma de cáliz de granito serrano, da frescor a este lugar.

MAYOR SQUARE (GUADALUPE)

The Plaza Mayor of Guadalupe is a wonderful invitation to get lost in this beautiful town of Cáceres, its arcades are cozy when you want to shelter from the harsh Extremadura summer; in the center a fountain (perhaps of the 18 th century) with a pump in the shape of calyx made of granite, gives freshness to this place.

ACCESO A GUADALUPE : Acceso desde Talavera de la Reina por la N-502 y después la CM-411 y la EX102 que llevan a Guadalupe, o bien desde Trujillo por la EX208 y EX102.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS : Las escalinatas limitan el acceso a este monumento, pero puedes visitar el resto del pueblo.
   

ACCESS TO GUADALUPE : Access from Talavera de la Reina on the N-502 and then the CM-411 and EX-102 that lead to Guadalupe of rom Trujillo on the EX-208 and EX-102.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED : The steps limit access to this monument but you can visit the rest of the town.
