PUENTE ROMANO - GALISTEO

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El puente de Galisteo, no es un puente romano, se data en el siglo XVI (mandado construir por don E. Fernández Manrique), tiene apeaderos, estructuras típicas de la Edad Moderna; en total el puente de Galisteo tiene 7 arcos, los arcos centrales tienen una mayor luz (anchura) que los laterales.

ROMAN BRIDGE - GALISTEO

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The bridge of Galisteo isn`t a Roman bridge, although it is well known, it dates from the 16 th century (built by Don Enrique Fernández Manrique), has also park structures, typical elements of the Modern Age; has seven arches, the central arches are more width than the side arches.

		MURALLAS - GALISTEO INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA En época romana Galisteo era conocida como “Rusticiana”, era un enclave más de la Vía de la Plata, sus murallas con datación almohade son muy originales, pues se construyeron con cantos de río (del río Jerte), entre lo accesos destaca sobre todo el de Santa María, con un elegante arco gótico de ladrillo y sillería; en el arco de la villa vemos otro arco gótico, más pequeño, con el hueco para el rastrillo; mientras las almenas son de ladrillo y cantos; en la esquina NW se ubica el castillo, con elementos góticos que le dan un aspecto pintoresco. ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS Visita exterior				ARAB WALLS - GALISTEO HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION In Roman times Galisteo was known as “Rusticiana”, it was an enclave more of the Via de la Plata (Way of the Silver), its walls with dating almohad are very original, because they were built with river pebbles (of the Jerte river), among the access stands out the Gate of Santa María with an elegant Gothic arch of bricks and ashlar; in the Arch of La Villa we see another Gothic arch, smaller with the hole for the portcullis; while the battlements are of brick and pebbles; in the NW corner is located the castle, with beautiful Gothic elements of a picturesque appearance. RUINAS DE GRANADILLA (ZARZA DE GRANADILLA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Las ruinas de Granadilla son las ruinas de un pueblo abandonado, que fue declarado Conjunto Histórico-Artístico, las murallas del pueblo son del periodo andalusí (quizás almohades), conquistada por la Cristiandad, se construyo un gran torreón en sillería; mientras la iglesia del pueblo data del s. XVI.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

El horario de invierno (noviembre-marzo) es de martes a domingo de 10:00-13:30 y de 16:00-18:00, el horario de verano (abril-octubre) es de martes a domingo de 10:00-13:30 y de 16:00-20:00, lunes cerrado.

GRANADILLA RUINS (ZARZA DE GRANADILLA)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The ruins of Granadilla are the remains of an abandoned village, which was declared a Historic-Artistic Complex, the village walls are from the Andalusi period (perhaps Almohads), conquered by Christianity, a large tower was built in ashlar; finaly the village church dates from the 16 th century.

The winter time (November-March) is from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 1,30 pm and from 4 pm to 6 pm; summer time (April-October) is from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am – 1,30 pm and from 4 – 8 Monday closed.

CAPARRA (GUIJO DE GRANADILLA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Tenemos restos de la muralla, despejada por las excavaciones, restos de un templo dedicado al Dios Júpiter, el magnífico arco cuadrifronte, que daba acceso al foro; así como, el puente romano del río Ambroz.

Cronología general de los siglos II a.C. al I a.C. El arco es del siglo II a.C., y el templo de Júpiter del siglo I a.C.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

El horario de verano (junio-septiembre) es de 10:00-14:00 y de 17:00-20:00. El horario de invierno (octubre-mayo) es de 10:00-14:00 y de 16:00-19:00. Entrada gratuita.

CITY OF CAPARRA (GUIJO DE GRANADILLA)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

We have remains of the wall, cleared by the excavations, remains of a temple dedicated to Jupiter, the amazing quadruple arch, allow the access to the forum; as weel as the Roman bridge over the Ambroz River.

General chronology of the 2 nd century BC to 1 st BC. The arch is dated in 2 nd century BC and the temple of Jupiter in 1 st century BC.

Summer timetable (June-September) is from 10 am to 2 pm and from 5 pm to 8 pm. The winter timetable (October-May) is from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 7 pm. Rate free.

		ACCESO - ALAGÓN GALISTEO: Galisteo se ubica en la EX41, entre Plasencia y Coria, salida 61. GRANADILLA: Se ubica junto al embalse de Gabriel y Galán. CAPARRA: Acceso por la N-630 o la A-66 (Salamanca-Cáceres), salida 455 de Guijo de Granadilla; y coger la carretera a Guijo de Granadilla en cuyo trayecto está el yacimiento. ACCESO PARA MINUSVALIDOS GALISTEO: Visita exterior GRANADILLA: El usuario de silla de ruedas podrá recorrer el pueblo, pero no subir al torreón. CAPARRA: Visita factible.				LOCATION - ALAGÓN GALISTEO: Galisteo is located in the EX-41, between Plasencia & Coria, exit 61. GRANADILLA: It is located next to the Gabriel and Galán reservoir. CAPARRA: Access by the N-630 or the A-66 (Salamanca-Cáceres), exit 455 from Guijo de Granadilla; and take the road to Guijo de Granadilla, wjere we will find the site. ACCESS FOR THE HANDICAPPED GALISTEO: Outside visit GRANADILLA: The wheelchair user will be able to tour the town, but not go up to the keep. CAPARRA: Visit feasible.
