SETENIL DE LAS BODEGAS: Es una bonita y pintoresca localidad, encajada en el cauce del río Trejo, que atrae a gran cantidad de turistas, el caserío es Conjunto Histórico y forma parte de la ruta de Pueblos Blancos.

El topónimo “Setenil” parece responder a los siete asedios que fue preciso realizar para doblegar a los nazaríes que vivían aquí antes de la conquista cristiana.

Entre los monumentos más interesantes hay que citar la iglesia de la Encarnación, la torre de Homenaje, pero sobre todo, las formaciones rocosas, los puentes y la vegetación colgante que desciende desde la peña. Muy cerca se encuentra la ciudad romana de Acinipo, que tiene las ruinas de un excepcional teatro romano, aunque pertenece a la ciudad malagueña de Ronda.

SETENIL DE LAS BODEGAS: En la localidad hay poco aparcamiento, no es recomendable adentrarse mucho.

Hay un parking pequeño, justo a la entrada (en las curvas). El aparcamiento es gratuito.

Vernur colabora con muchos ayuntamientos en la regulación del tráfico de sus municipios, evitando colapsar algunas zonas, lo que provocaría “Turismofobia”, facilitando a la vez el acceso del visitante tanto al aparcamiento como a los centros históricos.

La distancia máxima en los extremos de esta visita es 850 m. La visita se desarrolla por un espacio de fuerte desnivel.

Con silla de ruedas el acceso es factible por las calles de Setenil de las Bodegas y admirar el roquedo. Con silla de ruedas el acceso no es factible a la iglesia de La Encarnación (cerco de la puerta)

SETENIL: Entre los eventos festivos destacamos la Semana Santa de Setenil, en la que procesionan dos hermandades con una fuerte rivalidad, entre calles muy estrechas y bonitas que dificultan las celebraciones.

En la carretera de Torre-Alháquime, justo donde se ubica el límite municipal (pero al otro lado), tenemos el acceso al área recreativa del Molino del Trejo, con un pequeño merendero en un bonito bosque, ideal para realizar un alto en el camino.

INFO HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La iglesia de La Encarnación (Setenil de las Bodegas) es de estilo gótico-barroco. Se data en los siglos XV-XVII. Se construyó en el solar de una antigua mezquita (algunos elementos de ladrillo así lo documentan).

Fuera esta la fachada de tímpano mixtilíneo, acceso adintelado y hornacina para la virgen. Dentro destaca la bóveda gótica de crucería y la cabecera gótica.

La Torre del homenaje (Setenil de las Bodegas) es de estilo andalusí (Almohade). Se data en los siglos XII-XIII. Del castillo se conserva la torre de homenaje, que consta de un aljibe y restos de muralla.

La torre es de planta cuadrada y tiene 3 plantas, con bóveda de cañón (primera) y bóvedas vaídas (2ª y 3ª planta).
