PALACIO DE LOS RIBERA (BORNOS)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El Palacio dispone de unos interesantes jardines de época renacentista del siglo XVI, en lo que fue quizás una fortificación conquistada por el rey Don Fernando en (1250), dispone de murallas, torre, un bonito patio, una torre de homenaje. Sin duda es el patio el elemento más atractivo con arcos peraltados, en el centro del patio hay una fuente de mármol, traída de Italia decorada con el escudo de Los Ribera, arcos y gárgolas denuncian un estilo gótico-tardío,

RIBERA' PALACE (BORNOS)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The palace has some interesting gardens of the Renaissance times, from 16 th century, perhaps was a fortfication conquered by the king Don Fernando in (1250), has walls, tower, a nice courtyard, a keep. No doubt the courtyard is the most attractive element with high-Roman arches; in the center of the courtyard there is a marble fountain, brought from Italy decorated with the coat of arms of Los Ribera, arches and gargoyles denounce a Late Gothic style.

CASTILLO ÁRABE DE OLVERA

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El castillo data del siglo XII, formaba parte del reino nazarí, pero los muros actuales son una reforma de época cristiana, el castillo se adapta a las peñascos, tiene planta irregular, la puerta de acceso, se protege con una barbacana, la fortaleza dispone además de torre de homenaje con escaleras de caracol, adarve (paseo de ronda) y 2 aljibes; las vistas desde el castillo son excepcionales.

HORARIOS-ENTRADA

El horario de verano es de martes a domingo de 10:30-14:00 y 16:00-19:00 y en invierno es de martes a domingo de 10:30-14:00 y de 16:00-18:00, lunes cerrado. Entrada 2€.

ARAB CASTLE (OLVERA)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The castle dates back to the 12 th century, it was part of the Nasrid Kingdom but current walls are a reform of Christians times, the castle adapts to rocks, has irregular floor, the access door is protected with a barbican, the fort besides a keep with stairs of snail, wall-walk and 2 cisterns; the views from the castle are amazing.

TICKETS AND TIMETABLE

Summer opening hours is from Tuesday to Sunday from 10,30 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 7 pm; and in winter from Tuesday to Sunday is from 10,30 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 6 pm. Monday closed. General rate € 2.

LA ENCARNACIÓN (OLVERA)

La iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación de Olvera es un edificio de estilo neoclásico que se data entre los siglos XVII y XVIII, del antiguo templo gótico-mudéjar solo se conservan los cimientos del ábside. La fachada con 2 torres es un diseño muy monumental y dentro el espacio se divide en 3 naves.

VISITA : Horario de 11:00 a 13:00. Entrada general 2€.

LA ENCARNACIÓN (OLVERA)

The church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación of Olvera is a neoclassical building dating from the 17th-18th centuries, the old Gothic-Mudejar temple only preserves the foundations of the apse. The façade with 2 towers is a very monumental design and inside the space is divided into 3 naves.

ACCEDER A LA SIERRA

UBICACIÓN

Acceso desde Jerez de la Frontera por la A-381, que va directo a los principales pueblos de la sierra de Cádiz.

BORNOS: En el centro de la localidad.

OLVERA: En el centro del pueblo, en la parte elevada del pueblo.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS

BORNOS: Solo unos escalones de ladrillo pueden dificultar el acceso y el paso a las sillas de ruedas.

OLVERA: No apto para sillas de ruedas.

ACCESS TO LA SIERRA

LOCATION

Access from Jerez de la Frontera by the A-381, which goes directly to the main villages of Cádiz Mountain Range.

BORNOS: In the center of the town.

OLVERA: In the center of the village, in the high part of the town.

ACCESS FOR THE HANDICAPPED

BORNOS: Only a few small brick steps suppose a problem for wheelchairs.

OLVERA: The visit is not suitable for wheelchairs.
