CATEDRAL (HINOJOSA DEL DUQUE)

La iglesia de San Juan Bautista, de Hinojosa del Duque, es conocida como “La catedral de la Sierra”, se data en el siglo XVI, destacando la portada de estilo plateresco, en la nave central tenemos un bello artesonado mudéjar, mientras la torre de la catedral se data en el siglo XVI.

VISITA : Horario de lunes a domingo de 10:00 a 12:30. Entrada gratis.

CATHEDRAL (HINOJOSA DEL DUQUE)

The church of San Juan Bautista, in Hinojosa del Duque, is known as “The Catedral of the Sierra”, dates back to the 16th century, highlighting the plateresque style doorway, in the nave we have a beautiful Mudejar coffered ceiling, while the tower of the cathedral dates from the 16 th century.

VISIT : Timetable Monday to Sunday from 10:00 to 12:30. Admission free.

MUSEO (HINOJOSA DEL DUQUE)

El Museo Etnológico de Hinojosa del Duque, esta ubicado en una antigua casa señorial que podemos datar en el siglo XVIII, alberga colecciones que permiten reconstruir la vida cotidiana (vivienda, cocina, matanza), oficios (medicina, tiendas), la religión y costumbres de las gentes de la localidad.

VISITA : Horario los martes de 17:00 a 20:00, miércoles, jueves y viernes de 12:00-14:00 y 17:00-20:00, fines de semana de 11:00-14:00 y lunes cerrado.

MUSEUM (HINOJOSA DEL DUQUE)

The Ethnological Museum of Hinojosa del Duque is located in an old manor house that we can date in the 18th century, houses collections that allow reconstructing daily live (housing, kitchen, butchery), trades (medicine, shops), religión and customs of the people of the town.

VISIT : Timetable, Tuesdays from 17:00 to 20:00, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 12:00-14:00 and 17:00-20:00, weekends from 11:00 to 14:00 and closed Monday.

ERMITA DEL CASTILLO (HINOJOSA DEL DUQUE)

La Ermita de la Virgen del Castillo de Hinojosa del Duque, es un edificio que puede remontarse al siglo XIII, esta considerada como la iglesia más antigua de esta localidad; es un edificio gótico-renacentista, se cree que fue construida con las donaciones de los pastores trashumantes, y se considera prototipo de la iglesia serrana de Mesta.

HERMITAGE (HINOJOSA DEL DUQUE)

The hermitage of the Virgen del Castillo of Hinojosa del Duque, is a building that can be traced back to the 13th century, it is considered the oldest church in this town; it is a Gothic-Renaissance building, it is believed that it was built with the donations of transhumant shepherds and is considered a prototype of the mountain church of Mesta.

CASTILLO (BELALCAZAR)

El castillo de Belalcázar es un edificio que data del siglo XV, de estilo gótico, también se conoce como castillo de los Sotomayor y Zúñiga; durante el Renacimiento se hicieron obras de acondicionamiento, añadiéndose estancias palaciegas, dentro además del patio de armas puede verse un aljibe, pero sin duda, es la torre de homenaje la estructura más notable, con sus 47 m. (154 ft), posiblemente la más alta de la península Ibérica.

CASTLE (BELALCAZAR)

The castle of Belalcazar is a building that dates from the 15th century, of Gothic style also it is known like castle ot the Sotomayor and Zúñiga; during the Renaissance were made reconditioning works, adding palatial stays, inside the courtyars can see a cistern, but without a doubt, is the most remarkable structure, with its 47 m. (154 ft), possibly the highest in the Iberian Peninsula.

IGLESIA DE SANTIAGO (BELALCAZAR)

La iglesia de Santiago el Mayor de Belalcázar, se remonta al siglo XIII, pero el edificio era muy pequeño y en el siglo XVI fue ampliado tanto, que nada tiene del templo medieval, hoy en día la fachada, la portada y la torre son del siglo XVII. La portada es un frontón curvo roto con columnas jónicas, justo encima esta la torre (inconclusa).

VISITA : El horario de misas de verano es los laborables a las 21:00, domingos y festivos a las 12:00 y a las 21:00. El horario de misas de invierno es los laborables a las 19:30, domingos y festivos a las 12:00 y 19:30.

CHURCH OF SANTIAGO (BELALCAZAR)

The church of Santiago el Mayor of Belalcazar dates back to the 13 th century, but the building was very small and in the 16 th century it was enlarged so much that it has nothing of the medieval temple, today the facade, the portal and the tower are from 17 th century. The facade is a broken curved pediment with Ionic columns, just above the tower (unfinished).

VISIT : The timetable of Sumer masses is working at 9:00, Sundays and holidays at 12:00 and 21:00. The timetable of winter masses is working at 19:30, Sundays and holidays at 12:00 and 19:30.

ACCESO A PEDROCHES :

Acceso desde Córdoba por la N-432 y desviándose por la N-502, hasta llegar a Alcaraceños, aquí tomar la A-422 que lleva a Belalcazar. El castillo se ubica en un cerro junto al pueblo, se accede al castillo por los lavaderos. Los enclaves de Hinojosa del Duque se ubican junto a la Plaza de la Catedral en el centro histórico.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS :

En Hinojosa del Duque con silla de ruedas tienes que considerar que el acceso es factible a la catedral, aunque en el museo y en la ermita de la Virgen del Castillo hay un pequeño escalón a la entrada. En Belalcazar puedes entrar a la iglesia de Santiago, pero no al castillo.

ACCESS TO PEDROCHES :

Access from Córdoba by the N-432 and turn off by the N-502, until you reach Alcaraceños, where you should take the A-422 that leads to Belalcazar. The castle is located on a hill next to the town, the castle is accessed through the laundry area. The monuments of Hinojosa del Duque are located next to the Plaza de la Catedral in the historic center.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED :

In Hinojosa del Duque with a wheelchair you have to consider that access is feasible to the cathedral, although there is a small step at the entrance in the museum and in the chapel of the Virgen del Castillo. In Belalcazar you can enter the church, but not the castle.
