CASTILLO (EL VACAR)

Es un castillo de planta rectangular de 60 x 50 metros, con una única entrada y torres cuadradas, las murallas fueron construidas en tapial, son de 1, 5 metros de ancho. Se datan durante el emirato omeya (756-912). Es Bien de Interés Cultural desde (1985).

VISITA : Visita libre, sin horarios y sin entradas.

CASTLE (EL VACAR)

It is a rectangular castle of 60 x 50 meters, with a single entrance and square towers, the walls were built in tapial (dried mud between planks), are 1,5 m wide. They are dated during the Umayyad emirate (756-912). It is Cultural Interest heritage since (1985).

CASTILLO (BELMEZ)

El Castillo de Belmez, se encuentra en lo alto de un cerro-montaña, las primeras estructuras pueden datarse en el siglo XIII, pero el edificio actual es del siglo XV. Sabemos que perteneció a la Orden militar de Calatrava, la torre de homenaje es de planta pentagonal y tiene 11 m de altura (36 ft).

CASTLE (BELMEZ)

The castle of Belmez is located on top of a hill-mountain, the first structures can be dated in the 13 th century, but the current building is the 15 th century. We know that it belonged to the Military Order of Calatrava, the keep is pentagonal and it is 11 m. high (36 ft).

VISIT : Open every day. Free admission.

ACCESO AL GUADIATO :

Acceso desde Córdoba por la N-432 (para El Vacar y para Belmez), el pueblo de El Vacar esta a 30 Km. al norte de Córdoba. No es difícil dar con ambos castillos, pues se encuentran en lo alto de 2 cerros.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS :

Acceso no factible con silla de ruedas.

ACCESS TO GUADIATO :

Access from Córdoba on the N-432 (for El Vacar and for Belmez), the town of El Vacar is 30 Km. north of Córdoba. It is not difficult to find both castles, because they are on top of 2 hills.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED :

The access is not feasible with wheelchair.
