SANTO DOMINGO DE MOYA: Es una localidad de la Serranía Baja, con varias pedanías, una de ella es Moya, que hoy está abandonada y es donde se ubican los monumentos más interesantes objeto de esta ruta turística.

Sabemos por las excavaciones que el primer asentamiento es de la Edad del Bronce y continuó habitado en la Edad del Hierro. Fue en el medievo plaza codiciada, primero entre musulmanas y cristianos y después entre castellanos y aragoneses.

Tras diversas desventuras, sufriría un duro ataque con los carlistas del general Cabrera (1835) que supuso su declive. En (1982) fue declarado Monumento Histórico-Artístico, por sus monumentos como el castillo, murallas, convento de Concepcionistas, la antigua casa consistorial y sus iglesias.

SANTO DOMINGO DE MOYA: It is a town in the Serrania Baja, with several districts, one of which is Moya, which today is abandoned and is where the monuments that are the object of this tourist route are located.

We know for excavations that the first settlement occurred in the Bronze Age and continued to be inhabited in the Iron Age. In the Middle Ages it was a coveted stronghold, first between Muslims and Christians and later between Castilians & Aragonese.

After several misadventures, it would suffer a harsh attack by a Carlist General called Cabrera (1835), which accelerated its decline. In (1982) it was declared a Historic-Artistic Monument, as its monuments such as the castle, its walls, the Concepcionistas convent, the old town hall and its churches are notable.

MOYA: Acceso desde la N-420 (Cuenca-Teruel), antes de llegar a Cañete coger la CM-215 hasta Landete y allí coger la carretera a Moya.

Desde Teruel puedes acceder por la N-330 hasta Landete. Desde Valencia puedes coger la A-3 y después la nacional N-330 hasta Landete.

MOYA: Access from the N-420 (Cuenca-Teruel), before reaching Cañete take the road CM-215 to Landete and there take the road to Moya.

From Teruel you can access by the N-330 until Landete. From Valencia you can take the A-3 and after the national N-330 until Landete.

MOYA: En la localidad hay poco aparcamiento, no es recomendable adentrarse mucho. Hay un parking pequeño, junto al castillo.

El aparcamiento es gratuito. La ubicación del aparcamiento recomendado es muy cercana.

Vernur colabora con muchos ayuntamientos en la regulación del tráfico de sus municipios, evitando colapsar algunas zonas, lo que provocaría “Turismofobia”, facilitando a la vez el acceso del visitante tanto al aparcamiento como a los centros históricos.

MOYA: In the locality there is little parking, it is not recommended to enter too far. There is a small parking, next the castle.

Parking is free. The location of the recommended car park is very next.

MOYA: En las ruinas de la Vieja Moya puedes visitar el formidable castillo, las murallas, el convento y varias iglesias. No dispone de señalización.

Esta tranquila y bonita localidad tiene rincones preciosos que esperan a que los descubras.

La distancia máxima en los extremos de esta visita es 400 m. La visita se desarrolla por un espacio plano, con cuestas.

Vernur recomienda que no olvides llevar calzado cómodo y confortable, ropa acorde al clima, un buen sombrero y no olvides hidratarte.

MOYA: In the remains of the Old Moya you can visit the amazing castle, the walls, the convents and several churches. It doesn't has road signs.

This quiet and beautiful locality has beautiful corners waiting for you to discover then.

The maximum distance at the ends of this visit are 400 m. The visit takes place through a space flat, with slopes.

Vernur recommends that you don't forget to wear comfortable shoes, clothing appropriate to the climate, a good hat and don't forget to hydrate.

MOYA: En cuanto al firme tenemos (caminos de tierra). Pavimento recio y compacto. Respecto al desnivel es una zona plana, con cuevas. No hay bordillos en las aceras.

No apto para silla de ruedas.

INFO HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Tenemos un magnífico castillo, con una gran coracha, una gran muralla (se habla de 5 recintos y 8 puertas, lo que da una idea del complejo defensivo), foso excavado, torre de homenaje, patio de armas.

Cronología del siglo XIII, Tardo-medieval, con restauraciones y añadidos posteriores.

Dentro de la muralla hay una autentica ciudad con el Convento de las Concepcionistas, seis iglesias, dos hospitales y el ayuntamiento, todo abandonado y en ruinas.

El convento de las Concepcionistas es del siglo XVI, se conserva en estado ruinoso.
