CASTILLO (PUEBLA DE ALMENARA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Conserva buena parte de la muralla y de sus torres circulares, dispone de una magnífica torre de homenaje, de mampostería y de sillería; en el interior puede verse el patio de armas, un aljibe, caballerizas y aposentos.

En tiempos andalusíes ya existió algún tipo de torre árabe, pero el edifico es sin duda del siglo XII, siendo custodiado por la Orden de Santiago. A mediados del siglo XIV estaba en poder del infante Don Juan Manuel.

ACCESO

Desde la N-III (Madrid-Valencia), salirse en el mismo desvío de Segobriga y bajar unos kilómetros más al sur cogiendo la CM-3011 que va a Puebla de Almenara.

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

Preserved today a good part of the wall and its circular towers; has a magnificent keep, with ashlar and masonry; inside you can see the courtyard, a cistern, the stables and some rooms.

In Andalusi times already some Arab tower existed; but the building is without doubt of 12 th century, being guarded by Order of Santiago. In the middle of 14 th century was a property of infant Don Juan Manuel.

LOCATION

Fron the N-III (Madrid-Valencia), get off at the same turnoff of Segobriga and go down a few kilometers further south taking the CM-3011 that goes to Puebla de Almenara.

ACCESS FOR THE HANDICAPPED
