CASTILLO (CAÑETE)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El castillo de Cañete es una construcción del siglo X de mampostería; los muros se engrosaron para hacer frente a la artillería en el siglo XV. Se cree que el castillo fue en origen una simple atalaya emiral ampliada en tiempos califales conformando el primer recinto. También es interesante la iglesia de Santiago Apóstol, de origen románico.

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The castle of Cañete is a building of the 10 th century of rubblework masonry; the walls were enlarged to face the artillery in the 15 th century. It is believed that the castle was originally a simple emiral watchtower extended in Caliphate times forming the first enclosure. The church of Santiago Apóstol, of Romanesque origin is also interesting.

MURALLA (CAÑETE)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La muralla de Cañete dispone un curioso sistema defensivo de muros en cremallera; las puertas que hoy se conservan denuncian un aire árabe y románico. Muy interesante es la puerta de San Bartolomé con doble arco de herradura y dispuesta en recodo para dificultar el asalto, es califal del siglo X.

The wall of Cañete has a curious defensive system of walls in zipper; the doors that are still preserved denounce an Arab and Romanesque air. Very intersting is the door of San Bartolomé with double horseshoe arch and arranged in bend to hinder the assault, is caliphal from 10 th century.

CASTILLO DE LOS BOBADILLA (MOYA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Tenemos un magnífico castillo, con una gran coracha, una gran muralla (se habla de 5 recintos y 8 puertas, lo que da una idea del complejo defensivo), foso excavado, torre de homenaje, patio de armas; dentro de la muralla hay una autentica ciudad con el Convento de las Concepcionistas, seis iglesias, dos hospitales y el ayuntamiento, todo abandonado y en ruinas. Cronología bajomedieval del s. XIII, con restauraciones y añadidos posteriores.

We have a magnificent castle, with a great advanced water-tower, a great wall (it is spoken of 5 enclosures and 8 doors, which gives an idea of the defensive complex), a excavated moat, keep, courtyard; inside the wall there are an authentic city the Convent of Los Concepcionistas, 6 churches, 2 hospitals and the town hall, all abandoned and in ruins. Late medieval chronology of the 13 th century, with later restorations and additions.

ACCESO POR CARRETERA

(SERRANIA BAJA)

UBICACIÓN DE ENCLAVES:

Acceso desde la N-420 (Cuenca-Teruel), antes de llegar a Cañete coger la CM-215 hasta Landete y allí coger la carretera a Moya.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVALIDOS:

MOYA: No apto para silla de ruedas.

CAÑETE: Con silla de ruedas el acceso no es factible al castillo, pero podrás admirar el exterior de las murallas de Cañete.

(SERRANIA BAJA)

LOCATION

Access from the N-420 (Cuenca-Teruel), before reaching Cañete take the CM-215 to Landete and there take the road to Moya.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED

MOYA: Not suitable for wheelchairs.

CAÑETE: Wheelchair access is not feasible to the castle, but you can admire the outside of the walls of Cañete.

NECRÓPOLIS DE LAS HOYAS DEL CASTILLO (PAJARONCILLO)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Tenemos un conjunto de túmulos de distintas cronologías, en un aceptable estado de conservación. La cronología nos lleva a la Edad del Hierro, casi todos los túmulos son del Hierro I, perdurando hasta el siglo IV a.C., es decir, siglos VII-IV a.C.

NECROPOLIS OF HOYAS DEL CASTILLO (PAJARONCILLO)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

We have an interesting set of tombs of different chronologies, in an acceptable state of conservation. The chronology take us the Iron Age, almost all the tombs are of Iron I, lasting until 4 th century BC, from 7 th to 4 th century BC.

Acceso desde Cuenca por la N-420, hay que cruzar Pajaroncillo, pasando el puente en dirección a Cañete hay que entrar por un camino forestal situado a la izquierda de la nacional N-420.

No visitable con silla de ruedas.

Access from Cuenca by the N-420, you have to cross Pajaroncillo, passing the bridge in the direction to Cañete you have to enter by a forest road located on the left of the road N-420.
