FELGUEIRAS: Se ubica en la antigua región de Douro Litoral, en el actual distrito de Porto.

Entre los monumentos destacamos la iglesia matriz, que es un monumento de fachada muy sobria, el espectacular mosteiro de Santa María de Pombeiro (NW de Felgueiras), el santuario de Santa Quiteria, la casa do Diabo de Felgueiras y el monumento a Nicolas Coelho.

La localidad de Felgueiras es conocida en Portugal por el vino verde, el bizcocho de Margaride y la artesanía de bordados y bonitos encajes.

Hay rutas de senderismo muy interesantes y atractivas. Algunas están señalizadas (carteles y balizas).

 

FELGUEIRAS: It is located in the old region of Douro Litoral in the current district of Porto.

Among the monuments we stand out the main church, which is a monument with a very sober façade, the spectacular mosteiro de Santa Maria de Pombeiro (NW of Felgueiras), the sanctuary of Santa Quiteria, the Casa do Diabo de Felgueiras and the monument to Nicolas Coelho.

The town of Felgueiras is known in Portugal for green wine, the Margaride sponge cake and the crafts of embroidery and beautiful lace.

FELGUEIRAS: Se ubica en una encrucijada de caminos, por la N-101 contactamos al norte con Guimarães y al sur-este llegamos muy cerca de Amarante a la N-15.

Mientras por el suroeste por la N-207 llegamos a Lousada.

 

FELGUEIRAS: It is located in the cross of roads, by the N-101 we contact to the north with Guimarães and to southeast we arrive very near of Amarante to the N-15.

FELGUEIRAS: En la localidad hay poco aparcamiento, no es recomendable adentrarse mucho.

Hay espacio junto al monasterio y junto al monumento de Nicolau Coleho. El aparcamiento es gratuito.

Vernur colabora con muchos ayuntamientos en la regulación del tráfico de sus municipios, evitando colapsar algunas zonas, lo que provocaría “Turismofobia”, facilitando a la vez el acceso del visitante tanto al aparcamiento como a los centros históricos.

 

FELGUEIRAS: In the locality there is little parking, it is not recommended to enter too far.

There is space next the monastery and in the monument of Nicolau Coelho. Parking is free.

FELGUEIRAS: Junto a la N-101 tenemos el monumento de Nicolau Coelho, desde esta nacional se accede por un camino rural (con un cartel azul “Turismo rural”) al mosteiro.

La distancia en los extremos de esta visita es 20-50 m. (cada monumento). La visita se desarrolla por un espacio plano.

Vernur recomienda que no olvides llevar calzado cómodo y confortable, ropa acorde al clima, un buen sombrero y no olvides hidratarte.

FELGUEIRAS: En cuanto al firme tenemos (caminos de piedra). Pavimento recio y compacto. Respecto al desnivel es una zona plana. Hay bordillos en las aceras.

Todos los monumentos tienen barreras arquitectónicas.

La tecnología de las sillas de ruedas ha avanzado mucho, cada vez más ligeras, hay modelos plegables, con todo tipo de adaptaciones, trata de conseguir una moderna, incluso hay ciudades donde se pueden alquilar, contacta con nosotros para añadir información.

 

FELGUEIRAS: As for the firm we have (stone roads). The firm is strong and compact. Regarding the unevenness, it is a flat area. There are curbs on the sidewalks.

FELGUEIRAS: Junto al santuario de Santa Quiteria se ubica la Alameda de Santa Quiteria un agradable y bonito paraje, con aparcamiento y bar-restaurante.

INFO HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El Mosteiro de Santa María de Pombeiro (Felgueiras), es un importante complejo monástico con orígenes en una iglesia románica (siglo XII), con fuertes reformas en el siglo XVI que configuraron un edificio de estilo barroco, pero gran parte de las capillas, las torres de la fachada y el claustro se construyeron en el siglo XVII.

The Mosteiro de Santa Maria de Pombeiro (Felgueiras) is an important monastic complex with origin in a Romanesque church (12 th century), with hard reforms in the 16 th century, that configured a Baroque style building, but several chapels, the towers of the façade and the cloister were built in the 17 th century.

El monumento a Nicolau Coelho es un homenaje a este paisano de Felgueiras y a este gran navegante portugués que acompaño a Vasco de Gama a la India y a Pedro Alvares Cabral en el descubrimiento de Brasil.

En una amplia plaza, en medio de un estanque hay un monolito con un busto de bronce del navegante.

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFO

The monument to Nicolau Coelho is a tribute to this countryman from Felgueiras and to this great Portuguese navigator, that accompanied to Vasco de Gama to India and to Pedro Alvares Cabral in the discovery of Brazil.

In a large square, in the middle of a pond there are a monolith with a bronze bust of the navigator.
