PALACIO DE BARAO (PENAFIEL)

El Palacio de Barao es un edificio del siglo XIX, que hoy es sede de la Biblioteca Municipal de Peñafiel, es un edificio elegante formado por 2 cuerpos unidos por una entrada con gran arco, coronado en frontón triangular; grandes ventanales iluminan el interior, en el interior hay un patio, pero lo más interesante es la fachada.

Barao Palace is a building of the 19 th century, which today is the headquartes of the Municipal Library of Peñafiel, it is an elegant building formed by 2 sections joined by an entrance with a large arch, topped with a triangular pediment; large windows light the inside; inside there are a courtyard, but the most interesting is the façade.

MOSTEIRO DE SOUSA (SOUSA)

El Mosteiro do Salvador de Paço de Sousa es un bonito edificio de estilo románico que se data entre los siglos XII y XIII, la fachada responde al modelo prototípico del románico con 2 gruesos contrafuertes, línea de canecillos arco con arquivoltas y gran rosetón.

MONASTERY OF SOUSA (SOUSA)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The Monastery of Salvador de Paço de Sousa is a beautiful building of Romanesque style that dates between 12 th and 13 th centuries, the façade follow the typical model of Romanesque with 2 thick buttresses, line of corbels, arch with archivolts and large rose window.

CAPELA DOS AFLITOS (LOUSADA)

La capela dos Aflitos (Lousada) es una construcción de estilo barroco, ubicada sobre un cerro se accede por una larga escalinata, la fachada tiene un pórtico con 3 arcos, en la planta baja, un piso primero con 3 ventanales y encima una torre campanario, con reloj y con chapitel piramidal.

The chapel dos Aflitos (Lousada) is a baroque style building, located on a hill accessed by a long staircase, the façade has a portico with 3 arches, on the ground floor, a first floor with 3 windows and above a bell tower, with clock and a pyramidal spire.

CAPELA N.S. DE LORETO (LOUSADA)

La capela de Nossa Senhora de Loreto (Lousada), es un edificio del siglo XVIII; esta construida en sillería y sillarejo, la entrada es un arco rebajado, encima hay un oculo para mejorar la iluminación, encima 2 arcos permiten el toque de campanas.

CHAPEL N.S. DE LORETO (LOUSADA)

The chapel of Nosa Senhora de Loreto (Lousada), is an 18 th century building, it is built in ashlar masonry and rubblework masonry, the entrance ys a reduced arch, above there is an oculus to improve the lighting, over 2 arches allow the ringing of bells.

ACCESO POR CARRETERA

(PENAFIEL-LOUSADA)

UBICACIÓN DE ENCLAVES:

Sin duda, Penafiel es el enclave más destacado, por esta ciudad pasan la N-15 y la A-4.

Desde Penafiel se accede a Lousada por la N-106, que es la carretera de Paços de Ferreira.

También en la N-106 pero en dirección a Castelo de Paiva esta el acceso para Paços de Sousa y el Castelo de Cete.

LOCATION OF SITES

Penafiel is the most important site, through this city the N-15 and A-4 pass.

From Penafiel, Lousada is accessed by the N-106, which is the Paços de Ferreira road.

Also on the N-106 but in the direction of Castelo de Paiva is the access to Paços de Sousa and the Castelo of Cete.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVALIDOS:

PENAFIEL: El Palacio de Barao es accesible, para usuarios de la biblioteca.

SOUSA: Acceso factible al Mosteiro de Sousa, con silla de ruedas, hay rampas laterales.

LOUSADA: En la capela de los Aflitos hay un pequeño escalón; en la capela de Nuestra Señora de Loreto hay una rampa de acceso en el lado norte.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED

PENAFIEL: Barao Palace is accessible, but only accessible for library users.

SOUSA: Accessible to the Monastery of Sousa, with wheelchair, there are side ramps.

LOUSADA: In the Aflitos' chapel there is a small step; in the chapel of Nossa Senhora of Loreto there is an short access ramp on the north side.
