PORTO DE MOS: Se ubica en la antigua región de Estremadura, en el actual distrito de Leiria. Entre los principales monumentos citaremos el Castelo una bellísima obra del siglo XVIII, el pelourinho y la bonita iglesia de São Pedro. También podemos visitar el interesante y magnífico Museo Municipal de Porto de Mos. En los alrededores los amantes de la naturaleza pueden disfrutar del Parque Natural das Serras de Aire e Candeeiros. El entorno natural es muy bonito e interesante e invita a conocerlo con rutas de senderismo. |

PORTO DE MOS: El acceso principal se realiza por la carretera IC-9 (Nazaré-Tomar), o por la IC-2 o N-1 (Leiria- Río Maior) y por la N-243 (desde Torres Novas). La A-1 (Lisboa-Oporto, de peaje manual) pasa muy cerca y se corta con la N-243. |

PORTO DE MOS: En la localidad hay poco aparcamiento, no es recomendable adentrarse mucho. Hay espacio cerca de la iglesia de São Pedro. El aparcamiento está regulado, es una zona de pago. Después puedes aparcar junto al cementerio, para visitar el castillo (parking gratuito). Vernur colabora con muchos ayuntamientos en la regulación del tráfico de sus municipios, evitando colapsar algunas zonas, lo que provocaría “Turismofobia”, facilitando a la vez el acceso del visitante tanto al aparcamiento como a los centros históricos. |

PORTO DE MOS: El castillo se ubica al norte de Porto de Mos y la iglesia de São Pedro en una glorieta en el sector SW (en la carretera N-243). La distancia máxima en los extremos de esta visita es 50-100 m. (cada monumento). La visita se desarrolla por un espacio plano (cuesta para el castillo). Hay rutas de senderismo muy interesantes y atractivas. Algunas están señalizadas (carteles y balizas). Vernur recomienda que no olvides llevar calzado cómodo y confortable, ropa acorde al clima, un buen sombrero y no olvides hidratarte. |

PORTO DE MOS: En cuanto al firme tenemos (caminos de piedra). Pavimento recio y compacto. Respecto al desnivel es una zona plana (cuesta para el castillo). No hay bordillos en las aceras (zona vieja). Con silla de ruedas el acceso no es factible al castillo de Porto de Mos (escalón) y a la iglesia de São Pedro. La tecnología de las sillas de ruedas ha avanzado mucho, cada vez más ligeras, hay modelos plegables, con todo tipo de adaptaciones, trata de conseguir una moderna, incluso hay ciudades donde se pueden alquilar, contacta con nosotros para añadir información. |

Desde Porto de Mos por la carretera del campo de futbol y del centro Hospitalar podemos acceder al parque de merendas de Valicova, que tiene un bonito bosque, merendero y aparcamiento. INFO HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA El castillo de Porto de Mos es de estilo gótico-renacentista. Se remonta al siglo XII, pero tiene muchas reformas (siglo XIV con D. Dinis y siglo XVI). El castillo tiene planta pentagonal, con torres en las esquinas, dos de ellas cubiertas con un tejadillo piramidal, una bella galería de arcos mixtilíneos ofrece unas magníficas panorámicas. HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFO The castle of Porto de Mos is Gothic-Renaissance style. It's dated in the 12 th century, but has many reforms (14 th century with D. Dinis and 16 th century). The castle has a pentagonal plan, with towers in the corners, two of them covered with a pyramid roof, a beautiful gallery of multilinear arches offers wonderful views. In the 18 th century 2 earthquakes left it in ruins.
