Batalha: Monumentos y turismo


		BATALHA: Se ubica en la antigua región de Estremadura, en el actual distrito de Leiria. La villa de Batalha fue fundada por el rey João I, para agradecer el auxilio divino en la batalla de Aljubarrota (1385) ganada a los castellanos. Entre los principales monumentos citaremos el magnífico monasterio de Santa María de la Vitoria, con sus magníficas Capelas Imperfeitas; la iglesia matriz, la estatua ecuestre de San Nuño, el pelourinho y el puente Boitaca. Junto a la freguesia de São Mamede tenemos las grutas da Moeda, una espectacular cueva con preciosas formaciones geológicas, unicas en Portugal.		BATALHA: It is located in the old region of Estremadura, in the current district of Leiria. The town of Batalha was founded by the King Joao I, to thank the divine help in the famous battle of Aljubarrota (1385) won from the Castilians. Among the main monuments we will mention the wonderful monastery of Santa María da Vitoria, with its magnificent Capelas Imperfeitas; the mother church, the equestrian statue of Saint Nuño, the pelourinho and the Boitaca Bridge. Next to the locality of São Mamede we have the Grutas da Moeda, a spectacular cave with beautiful geological formations unique in Portugal.


		BATALHA: Se puede acceder por la IC9 (Tomar-Ourém-Batalha-Alcobaça-Nazaré), o por la N-1 (o IC-2) que atraviesa la localidad y conecta Leiria con Rio Maior. O por la A-19 (que viene desde Leiria, es de peaje); cerca pasan las autopistas A-8 y la A-1 que vienen de Lisboa.		BATALHA: It can be reached by IC9 (Tomar-Ourém- *Batalha-Alcobaça-Nazaré* ), or by the N-1 (or IC-2) that cross the locality and connect Leiria and Rio Maior. Or by the A-19 (start in Leiria, that it is toll road); near passes the A-8 and the A-1 motorways that comes from Lisbon.


		BATALHA: En la localidad hay poco aparcamiento, no es recomendable adentrarse mucho. Hay espacio en la zona de la GALP. El aparcamiento es gratuito. Vernur colabora con muchos ayuntamientos en la regulación del tráfico de sus municipios, evitando colapsar algunas zonas, lo que provocaría “Turismofobia”, facilitando a la vez el acceso del visitante tanto al aparcamiento como a los centros históricos.		BATALHA: In the locality there is little parking, it is not recommended to enter too far. There is space at the GALP area. Parking is free. Vernur collaborates with many town councils in regulating traffic in their municipalities, avoiding the collapse of some areas, which would cause “Tourismphobia”, while facilitating visitor access to both parking and historic centres.


		BATALHA: La zona donde se concentran los monumentos es el Centro Histórico. Aquí podemos ver algunos monumentos como las Capelas Imperfeitas y el Mosteiro. La distancia máxima en los extremos de esta visita es 700 m. La visita se desarrolla por un espacio de plano. Vernur recomienda que no olvides llevar calzado cómodo y confortable, ropa acorde al clima, un buen sombrero y no olvides hidratarte.		BATALHA: The area where the monuments are concentrated is the Historic Centre. Here we can see some monuments such as the Capelas Imperfeitas and the Mosteiro. The maximum distance at the ends of this visit are 700 m. The visit takes place through a space flat. Vernur recommends that you don't forget to wear comfortable shoes, clothing appropriate to the climate, a good hat and don't forget to hydrate.


		BATALHA: En cuanto al firme tenemos (caminos de piedra). Pavimento recio y compacto. Respecto al desnivel es una zona plana. No hay bordillos en las aceras (solo zona monumental). Respecto a las Capelas cada capilla tiene un escalón, pero la movilidad general es muy buena. En el Mosteiro hay algunos escalones en la entrada pero el acceso es factible. La tecnología de las sillas de ruedas ha avanzado mucho, cada vez más ligeras, hay modelos plegables, con todo tipo de adaptaciones, trata de conseguir una moderna, incluso hay ciudades donde se pueden alquilar, contacta con nosotros para añadir información.		BATALHA: As for the pavement we have (stone roads). The pavement is strong and compact. Regarding the unevenness, it is a very flat area. There aren't curbs on the sidewalks (only the monumental area). Respect the Capelas each chapel has a step, but general mobility is very good. In the Mosteiro there are some steps at the entrance but access is possible. Wheelchair technology has advanced significantly, they are becoming lighter, there are folding models, with all kinds of adaptions, always try to get a modern one, there are even cities where they can be rented, contact us to add information.

		INFO HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA Las Capelas imperfectas son un mausoleo ordenado construir por Don Duarte en 1437, dispone de 7 capillas, tiene planta octogonal y carece de cubrición; en un 2º momento se añadieron piezas manuelinas con Mateus Fernández, siendo sublime el pórtico de 15 m. de altura con múltiples decorativos (motivos vegetales, flores, caracoles). ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS Horario de abril a septiembre de 9:00 a 18:00 y en invierno de octubre a marzo es de 9:00 a 17:00, la entrada son 6 euros.				HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFO The “Imperfect Chapels” are a mausoleum, was built by Don Duarte in (1437), has 7 chapels, has octagonal plan and lacks cover, in a second time Manueline elements were added with the architect Mateus Fernandez, being sublime the porch of 15 meters (49,2 ft.) of height with several decorative elements (vegetal motives, flowers, snails). 		INFO HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA El Monasterio de Santa María da Vitória, es un edifico clasificado como Patrimonio de la Humanidad, es de estilo manuelino y gótico, data del siglo XIV y lo mando construir Don João I al vencer en Aljubarrota (1315) a los castellanos. Las obras se extendieron a los siglos XV y XVI, en el exterior hay muchos elementos góticos (arbotantes, pináculos, arcos ojivales); dentro destacan las cúpulas estrelladas y vidrieras coloreadas. También hay que visitar los claustros de D. Alfonso V y el claustro Real, así como la Sala Capitular.				HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFO The Monastery of *Santa Maria da Vitória* , is a building classified as a World Heritage Site, is Manueline and Gothic, dates from the 14 th century and was built by Don João I, by beating the Castilians in Aljubarrota (1315). The works extended to the 15 th and 16 th centuries, in the outside they predominate the gothic elements (buttresses, pinnacles, ogival arches); inside the starry domes and coloured stained glass. You should also visit the cloisters of Don Afonso V and the Royal Cloister, as well as the Chapter Hall.
