Palmela: Monumentos y turismo


		PALMELA: Se ubica en la antigua región de Estremadura, en el actual distrito de Setúbal. Entre los principales monumentos citaremos el magnífico Castelo de los Caballeros de la Orden de Santiago de la Espada, la Iglesia de São Tiago, la iglesia de Santa María. No muy lejos de la localidad tenemos el castro de Chibanes, que conserva unas magníficas murallas. Parte del municipio de Palmela pertenece al Parque Natural de la Serra de Arrábida y otra parte a la Reserva Natural del Estuario do Sado. 		PALMELA: Palmela se ubica junto a la A-2 (autopista de peaje manual), el acceso se realiza por la N-252, hay cartelería para el acceso a la Pousada (Parador Nacional). 		PALMELA: En la localidad hay poco aparcamiento, no es recomendable adentrarse mucho. Hay un parking pequeño junto a la muralla. El aparcamiento es gratuito. Vernur colabora con muchos ayuntamientos en la regulación del tráfico de sus municipios, evitando colapsar algunas zonas, lo que provocaría “Turismofobia”, facilitando a la vez el acceso del visitante tanto al aparcamiento como a los centros históricos. 		PALMELA: Te recomendamos visitar el magnífico Castelo de los Caballeros de la Orden de Santiago de la Espada, dentro se puede admirar la Iglesia de São Tiago y la iglesia de Santa María. No muy lejos de la localidad de Palmela tenemos el castro de Chibanes. En el camino esta el famoso chafariz. La distancia máxima en los extremos de esta visita es 400-500 m. La visita se desarrolla por un espacio de ligeras cuestas. Vernur recomienda que no olvides llevar calzado cómodo y confortable, ropa acorde al clima, un buen sombrero y no olvides hidratarte. 		PALMELA: En cuanto al firme tenemos (caminos de piedra). Pavimento recio y compacto. Respecto al desnivel es una zona de ligeras cuestas. El interior de la Pousada es solo para clientes, pero se puede visitar el exterior de varios monumentos y disfrutar de las vistas. Hay plazas reservadas para usuarios de silla de ruedas y rampa de acceso general, junto al parking interior. 		PALMELA: En las curvas situadas en la ladera donde se encuentra el acceso al Castelo, tenemos el Parque Venancio Ribeiro da Costa, que es un frondoso bosque precioso, con bancos, caminos para senderistas y columpios para niños, donde se puede hacer un alto en el camino. 		INFO HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA El castelo dispone de murallas, torre de homenaje almenada de gran altura, es un castillo de sillarejo, dentro se ubica el complejo hotelero de la Pousada portuguesa. Hay muros muy antiguos de los siglos XII y XIII, pero buena parte del complejo es del siglo XV, incluso hay elementos del siglo XVII (baluartes). ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS Para clientes. La iglesia de Santiago fue el centro religioso de la famosa Orden de Santiago. El edificio sorprende por su austeridad, aunque en el interior hay algunos elementos manuelinos muy espectaculares con el sarcófago del gran maestre D. Jorge de Lencastre.
