BESALÚ: Es una localidad de la comarca de La Garrocha, ubicada junto al río Fluvià.

Besalú conserva un abundante número de monumentos de época medieval, es soberbio y espectacular el puente.

Dispone de varias iglesias, de los baños judíos, el hospital de peregrinos y restos de la muralla.

Conserva en buen estado la arquitectura popular en muchas calles del casco histórico, que es muy pequeño, con rincones sorprendentes.

Es una visita para descubrir tranquilamente los rincones de este bonito pueblo.

BESALÚ: Acceso desde Figueras por la N-260 y C-26. Acceso desde Gerona y Banyoles por la C-66. Y acceso desde Ripoll y Olot por la N-260 y A-26.

Las salidas principales son la 67 y la 64-65.

BESALÚ: En la localidad hay poco aparcamiento, no es recomendable adentrarse mucho. Hay varios aparcamientos junto al puente medieval (P1, P2 y P3).

El aparcamiento es gratuito. La ubicación del aparcamiento recomendado es muy cercana.

Vernur colabora con muchos ayuntamientos en la regulación del tráfico de sus municipios, evitando colapsar algunas zonas, lo que provocaría “Turismofobia”, facilitando a la vez el acceso del visitante tanto al aparcamiento como a los centros históricos.

BESALÚ: In the locality there is little parking, it is not recommended to enter too far. There are several car parks next the Medieval Bridge (P1, P2 and P3).

BESALÚ: La zona donde se concentran los monumentos es el (Centro Histórico).

Aquí podemos ver algunos monumentos: (San Vicente, Santa María, Santa Julia, la sinagoga y el puente). A las afueras podemos ver: (San Martín).

La distancia máxima en los extremos de esta visita es 400 m. La visita se desarrolla por un espacio plano.

Vernur recomienda que no olvides llevar calzado cómodo y confortable, ropa acorde al clima, un buen sombrero y no olvides hidratarte.

BESALÚ: En cuanto al firme tenemos (caminos de piedra). Pavimento recio y compacto. Respecto al desnivel es una zona plana. No hay bordillos en las aceras (área central).

En general el pueblo es muy accesible para usuarios de silla de ruedas. San Vicente es accesible con silla de ruedas (rampita). San Martín tiene rampa metálica de acceso. En San Pere el acceso es a nivel de calle.

La tecnología de las sillas de ruedas ha avanzado mucho, cada vez más ligeras, hay modelos plegables, con todo tipo de adaptaciones, trata de conseguir una moderna, incluso hay ciudades donde se pueden alquilar, contacta con nosotros para añadir información.

BESALÚ: As for the firm we have (stone roads). The firm is strong and compact. Regarding the Unevenness, it is a flat area. There aren't curbs on the sidewalks (Central area).

In general the village is very accessible for wheelchair users. San Vicente is accessible for wheelchairs (ramp). San Martin has a metallic ramp for the access. The church of San Pere has a Street Level access.

BESALÚ: Vernur te recomienda concentrar la visita en el puente, hay magníficas vistas, el momento elegido es muy importante, pues el puente es como un imán para los turistas; obviamente, debes de evitar en la semana, el fin de semana y durante el día los mejores momentos son a primera hora o a mediodía entorno a la hora de comer, pues así podrás visitar todos los monumentos sin masificación.

Otra excelente opción es acercarte por la carretera de Olot y Ripoll a visitar un pueblo que se ubica sobre una roca, llamado Castellfollit de la Roca , con impresionantes paredes verticales.

Besalú es un pueblo catalán de aire medieval, situado entre los ríos Capellades y Fluvia es espectacular el puente románico, uno de los pocos en curva; su alta torre o fornix fue concebida para el pago del peaje condal.

La iglesia de San Vicente es un edificio muy antiguo hay referencias al siglo X, pero lo que vemos hoy es de estilo románico en líneas generales datándose en los siglos XII y XIII. Una de sus capillas conserva un fragmento de la Vera Cruz.

Pero no hay que perderse las iglesias de Sant Pere del siglo XII, el hospital de Sant Julia, la colegiata de Santa María y la sinagoga judía con una mikve (sala de baños de purificación prescritos por el judaísmo, una de las 5 aun conservadas en España).

En la muralla medieval de Besalú pueden distinguirse algunos torreones y puertas de entrada, destacando el Portal de Rocafort que data del siglo XI, pero el aspecto actual del arco es más producto de una reforma del siglo XIV. El casco histórico se puede datar en los siglos X-XIII.
