Lanjarón: Monumentos y turismo

LANJARÓN: Es una localidad del valle del Lecrín, al pie de Sierra Nevada, de la comarca de las Alpujarras.

La historia recuerda los trágicos acontecimientos de la Rebelión de los Moriscos de las Alpujarras que quemaron la iglesia de Lanjarón, muriendo 16 personas.

Hoy es una localidad tranquila, con una excelente miel, manantiales de agua y un turismo sostenible de gran calidad.

Entre los monumentos destacamos la iglesia de la Encarnación, el castillo, el balneario neomudejar y el museo de la Miel.

También es interesante la cercana localidad de Órgiva con la iglesia de la Expectación y la ermita de San Sebastián.

LANJARÓN: It is a town in the Lecrín Valley, at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, it belongs to the Alpujarras region.

History recalls the unfortunate events of the Moorish Rebellion of the Alpujarras that burned the church of the town of Lanjarón, killing 16 people.

Today it is a quiet town, with excellent honey, magnificent water springs and high-quality sustainable tourism.

Among the monuments we stand out the church of La Encarnación, the castle, the neo-Mudejar spa and the Honey Museum.

Also interesting is the nearby town of Órgiba with the church of la Expectación and the hermitage of San Sebastian.

LANJARÓN: En la localidad hay poco aparcamiento, no es recomendable adentrarse mucho.

Hay un parking muy cerca del mirador del castillo. El aparcamiento es gratuito.

Vernur colabora con muchos ayuntamientos en la regulación del tráfico de sus municipios, evitando colapsar algunas zonas, lo que provocaría “Turismofobia”, facilitando a la vez el acceso del visitante tanto al aparcamiento como a los centros históricos.

LANJARÓN: In the locality there is little parking, it is not recommended to enter too far.

There is a parking very near of the nice Castle Viewpoint. Parking is free.

Vernur collaborates with many town councils in regulating traffic in their municipalities, avoiding the collapse of some areas, which would cause “Tourismphobia”, while facilitating visitor access to both parking and historic centres.

LANJARÓN: Recomendamos: El Museo de la Miel (a la entrada del pueblo, hay cartelería). La iglesia de la Encarnación (c. Real, en el centro del pueblo). El castillo de Lanjarón (en una peña rocosa, hay cartelería y camino de acceso).

La distancia máxima en los extremos de esta visita es 1.600 m. La visita se desarrolla por un espacio plano con algunas cuestas.

ÓRGIVA: Recomendamos: La iglesia de la Expectación (junto a la carretera principal). La ermita de San Sebastián (c. Ermita, en la zona alta).

Vernur recomienda que no olvides llevar calzado cómodo y confortable, ropa acorde al clima, un buen sombrero y no olvides hidratarte.

LANJARÓN: We recommend: The Honey Museum (at the entrance of the town, there are signposts). The church of La Encarnación (Real St., in the centre of the town). Lanjarón castle (on a rocky rock, there are signs and access road).

The maximum distance at the ends of this visit are 1.600 m. The visit takes place through a space flat, with some slope.

Vernur recommends that you don't forget to wear comfortable shoes, clothing appropriate to the climate, a good hat and don't forget to hydrate.

LANJARÓN: En cuanto al firme tenemos (caminos de asfalto, piedra y cemento). Pavimento recio y compacto. Respecto al desnivel es una zona plana, con algunas cuestas. No hay bordillos en las aceras (calle Real), pero hay bolardos y jardineras.

El acceso a la iglesia de la Encarnación es a nivel de calle. Con silla de ruedas el acceso no es factible al Museo de la Miel (escaleras) y al castillo de Lanjarón (rampa muy empinada)

ÓRGIVA: Con silla de ruedas el acceso es factible a la iglesia de la Expectación (rampa metálica). La ermita de San Sebastián, tiene un escalón interior.

LANJARÓN: As for the firm we have (asphalt, stone and cement roads). The firm is strong and compact. Regarding the unevenness, it is a flat area with some slopes. There aren't curbs on the sidewalks (Real Street), but there are bollards and planters.

The access to the church of La Encarnación it to street level. With wheelchair access is not feasible to the Honey Museum (stairs), to Lanjarón Castle (very steep ramp).

LANJARÓN: El Parque El Salado, ubicado entre el Museo de la Miel y el Balneario, es una refrescante opción, tiene un agradable bosquecillo, con arroyos.

The Honey museum (Lanjarón) is a modern building from (1011). The building houses a wax pond (unique structure in Andalusia) from the 17 th century, a collection of beehives (some from the Arab period) and an exhibition with didactic contents about the bee and honey.

La iglesia de la Expectación (Órgiva) es de estilo renacentista. Se data en el siglo XVI. En el exterior destacan las fachadas, la principal de sillería con arco de medio punto, balconada y nicho para la virgen; así como las dos torres gemelas con remate octagonal.

Dentro sobresalen las excelentes tallas del Santísimo Cristo (quizás de Juan Martínez Montañés), de la Virgen del Carmen y la de la virgen de la Expectación.

The church of La Expectación (Órgiva) is Renaissance style. It's dated in 16 th century. Outside we stand out. The façades, the main of ashlar masonry with semi-circular arch, balcony and niche for the virgin; as well as the two twin towers with octagonal top.

Inside we stand out the excellent carvings of Santísimo Cristo (perhaps by Juan Martínez Montañés), the virgin of el Carmen and the virgin of Expectación.
