PALACIO DEL INFANTADO (GUADALAJARA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El Palacio de los duques del Infantado, dispone de fachada, con puntas de diamante, galerías corridas, garitones, y el escudo de los Mendoza; dentro es de admirar el patio central (de los leones), con columnas dóricas y bellos arcos. Estilo Gótico isabelino, cronología de fines del s XV.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

El horario es de martes a sábado de 17:00-19:00, los domingos de 10:00-14:00, lunes cerrado, entrada general 3€.

ACCESO

Guadalajara se ubica en la N-II, desde Madrid se accede muy bien al Palacio del Infantado si coges la salida 53 de la A-2, pues por la avenida del Ejército, se llega al Palacio.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS

Al Palacio del Infantado se accede fácilmente, vver el museo y poco más, pues el edificio tiene varias plantas con amplias escaleras.

The Palace of the Dukes of Infantado, has beautiful façades, decorated with diamonds points, galleries, watchtowers, and the coat of arms of Mendoza family; inside has the courtyard (of the lions), with doric columns and beautiful arches. Elizabethan Gothic style. Chronology of the late 15 th c.

The timetable are from Tuesday to Saturday from 5 pm to 7 pm; Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm, Monday closed. General rate € 3.

LOCATION

Guadalajara is located in N-II, from Madrid you can access to Palacio del Infantado if you take exit 53 of the A-2, because by avenue of Ejercito, you will arrive directly at the Palace.

ACCESS FOR THE HANDICAPPED

Infantado Palace has an easy access; tou can visit the museum and little else, the building has several floors with wide stairs.

CASTILLO DE JADRAQUE

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Es de planta rectangular, tiene patio de armas, con torres circulares de altura similar a la de las murallas. Cronología del siglo XV.

ACCESO

Al castillo del Cid (Jadraque), se puede acceder por la CM-101 desde Guadalajara o por la N-II hay que coger la salida 83 (Brihuega-Miralrio), en la primera glorieta coger la dirección Muduex-Miralrio, y después la dirección Miralrio y Jadraque.

CASTLE OF JADRAQUE

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

It is of rectangular plant, has courtyard, with circular towers of height similar to same walls. Chronology of the 15 th century.

LOCATION

You can reach the Cid Castle (Jadraque) by the CM-101 from Guadalajara or by the N-II. Take the exit 83 (Brihuega-Miralrio), at the first roundabout take the Muduex-Miralrio direction; and after take the Miralrio and Jadraque direction.

CASTILLO DE TORIJA

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Tiene 3 torres cilíndricas, patio de armas, torre de homenaje, altas murallas y matacanes. La torre de homenaje tiene garitones en sus esquinas, incluso en sus lados. Cronología del siglo XV, lo que vemos hoy es obra de los Mendoza (antes fue propiedad de los templarios y de los navarros); curiosamente el castillo fue volado en el curso de la Guerra de la Independencia por el guerrillero Juan Martín Díez, El Empecinado.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

La entrada general son 2€, el horario es de jueves y viernes de 11:00-14:00 y de 16:00-19:00, los sábados es de 10:00-20:00, domingos y festivos es de 10:00-15:00.

CASTLE OF TORIJA

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

Has 3 cylindrical towers, courtyard of arms, keep, high walls and machicolations. The keep has watchtowers in the corners, include in the sides. Dated in the 15 th century, the current building is a work of the Mendoza´s family (after was property of the Templars and Navarra); curiously the castle was blown up in the Spanish Independence War by the bushwhacker Juan Martín Díez, El Empecinado.

The General ticket is €2, the The timetable are from Thursday to Friday from 11 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 7 pm; Saturdays from 10 am to 8 pm, Sundays and public holidays are from 10 am to 3 pm.

CASTILLO DE COGOLLUDO

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El castillo fue en origen propiedad de la orden de Calatrava (siglos XII-XIV), pero paso a manos de Don Diego Hurtado de Mendoza, que más tarde fue duque de Medinaceli y marqués de Cogolludo. Es un castillo de planta pentagonal con torres esquineras, tiene torre con cubierta de cúpula de ladrillo.

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

Originally the castle was property of the Order of Calatrava (12 th -14 th centuries), but passed to Don Diego Hurtado de Mendoza, that more lately was Duke of Medinaceli and Marquis of Cogolludo. Is a castle of pentagonal plan with corner towers, has a tower covered by a brick dome.

PALACIO DE LOS DUQUES DE MEDINACELI (COGOLLUDO)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Es un palacio renacentista de fines del siglo XV obra de Lorenzo Vázquez de Segovia, para algunos el primer edificio puramente renacentista español, los únicos elementos góticos son los ventanales y la crestería. Pero el muro con almohadillado al estilo florentino y la portada adintelada con frontón curvo a la milanesa son renacentistas.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

De Mayo a septiembre de martes a sábado hay visitas a las 11:30, 13:00 y 17:30 y los festivos solo a las 11:30; mientras de octubre a abril de martes a viernes las visitas son a las 11:30, 13:00 y 16:30, los sábados a las 11:30, 13:00, 16:30 y 18:00, los festivos solo a las 11:30. Tarifa de 3 €.

PALACE OF MEDINACELI (COGOLLUDO)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

It´s a Renaissance palace from 15 th century, a work of Lorenzo Vázquez de Segovia, for the scholars is the first Renaissance building in Spain, the unique gothic elements are the windows and the crenellations. But the wall with Florentine cushioning and the linteled façade with curved pediment made to Milanese form are Renaissance.

From May to September from Tuesday to Saturday we have visits at 11,30 am 1 pm and 5,30 pm and public holidays only at 11,30 am; while from October to April from Tuesday to Friday we have visits at 11,30 am 1 pm and 4,30 pm, the Saturdays at 11,30 am, 1, 4,30 and 6; and public holidays at 11,30. Tickets €3.

PUERTA DE SANTA MARÍA (HITA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

La Puerta de Santa María es el emblema de este pueblo, y parte de la muralla medieval, que data del siglo XV, como la misma puerta, fue ordenada construir por el Marques de Santillana en (1441), la puerta dispone de arco apuntado, con 2 garitones, matacanes y escudo heráldico del Marqués de Santillana.

GATE OF SANTA MARÍA (HITA)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The gate of Santa Maria is the emblem of the village, and part of the Medieval walls, dated in the 15 th century, as the same gate, was ordered to built by Marquis of Santillana in (1441), the gate has a Gothic arch, with 2 watchtowers, machicolations and a heraldic shield of Marquis of Santillana.

IGLESIA DE SAN PEDRO (HITA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Es una iglesia en ruinas solo se pueden ver la estructura de ladrillo y mampostería; posiblemente debe datarse en el siglo XV, pero en la Guerra Civil fue destruida y sus restos llevados a la iglesia de San Juan Bautista, que era una iglesia muy parecida.

Visita libre sin horarios, ni entradas.

Desde Torija (localidad situada en la A-2 Madrid-Zaragoza), coger la carretera a Torre del Burgo y allí desviarse a Hita.

CHURCH OF SAN PEDRO (HITA)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

It´s a ruined church, only you can see the sctructure of bricks and masonry; possibly dated in the 15 th century; but in the Spanish Civil War was demolished and the remains was transferred to the church of San Juan Bautista, a very similar church.
