CERRO DE LA OLIVA – RECOPOLIS- (ZORITA DE LOS CANES)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

En el Cerro de la Oliva se ubica la antigua “Recópolis”, una ciudad visigoda. Tiene restos de muralla, un palacete, viviendas y basílica; así como el Museo del yacimiento. Cronología visigoda (s. VI-VIII), pasando por el andalusí inicial (s. VIII-IX), siendo abandonada en el siglo IX. Es Conjunto Histórico Artístico desde (1946).

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

La tarifa general son 5 €. El horario de verano es de miércoles a viernes de 10:00-18:00 y sábado y domingo de 10:00-21:00. El horario invernal (septiembre-abril) es de miércoles a domingo de 10:00-18:00. Se pueden concertar visitas guiadas.

ACCESO

Desde Tarancón en la N-III se puede coger la CM-200 que va directo a Zorita de los Canes; también desde Arganda del Rey se puede ir por carreteras comárcales por la CM 209 (Campo Real-Villar del Olmo), M-204 y M-215 y la CM-2001 (Fuentenovilla-Yebra).

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS

Antiguamente, se llegaba a Recópolis hasta los primeros muros, hoy en día no, solo si los responsables te lo permiten, podrás ir con silla de ruedas hasta el yacimiento, pero a algunos edificios (iglesia) no podrás entrar.

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

In the Cerro de la Oliva is located the old “Recópolis”, a Visigothic city. Has a wall, a mansion, houses and a basilica; as well as a Museum of the site. Chronology Visigothic (6 th -8 th centuries), passing through the Early Andalusi time (8 th -9 th centuries), being abandoned in the 9 th c. It is Artistic Historic Site since (1946).

TICKETS AND TIMETABLE

The general rate is € 5; summer timetable is from Wednesday to Friday from 10 am to 8 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm. The winter timetable (September-April) is from Wednesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. Guided tours can be arranged.

In the past, you could arrive until the site, today isn`t possible, but only if those responsible allow it, you can go with a wheelchair to the site, but some buildings (church) you can not enter

CASTILLO DE ZORITA DE LOS CANES

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Se construyo con materiales de Recopolis, tiene murallas en zig-zag, albacara o recinto para el ganado, patio de armas, torreones, incluso tuvo puente levadizo. Es un castillo andalusí del siglo IX, con reformas del s XVI.

Visita no factible con silla de ruedas (cuestas empinadas y tramos de firme muy irregular).

CASTLE OF ZORITA DE LOS CANES

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

It was built with materials from Recopolis, it has zig-zag walls, albacara or enclosure for cattle; courtyard, even had drawbridge. It is an Andalusi castle built from 9 th century, with reforms that reach until the 16th c.

MURALLA MEDIEVAL DE BRIHUEGA

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El complejo defensivo contaba con castillo (Castillo de la Piedra Bermeja), unas murallas y diversas puertas; las murallas datan de época árabe, muy transformadas en época cristiana, las puertas más conocidas son las de El Arco de Cozagón (doble arco apuntado en el sector sur), la Puerta del Juego, la Puerta de la Pelota y la Puerta de la Cadena (arco de medio punto en el sector norte).

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The defensive complex had a castle (Castle of Piedra Bermeja), a walls and several portals; the walls were dated in Arab times, very reformed in Christian times; the most famous access gates ate El Arco de Cozagón (double Gothic arch in the South section), the Puerta del Juego, the Puerta de la Pelota and the Puerta de la Cadena (semicircular arch in the North section).

REAL FÁBRICA DE PAÑOS DE BRIHUEGA

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Gracias a la tradición textil de Brihuega, que como poco se remonta al siglo XIII, el rey Fernando VI decidió construir en Brihuega una Real Fábrica de Paños, que tuvo su esplendor en el siglo XVIII, para en la Guerra de la Independencia ser saqueada, después paso a manos privadas. El edificio consta de talleres, instalaciones administrativas y jardines de estilo versallesco.

ROYAL CLOTH FACTORY OF BRIHUEGA

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

Thanks to the Textil tradition of Brihuega, which goes back from 13th century, the king Fernando VI decided to build in Brihuega a Royal Cloth Factory, that had “the grandeur” in the 18 th century, but in the Spanish Independence War was looted, and more later pass to private property. The building has workshops, administrative rooms and gardens of Versailles style.

IGLESIA DE SAN FELIPE DE BRIHUEGA

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

La iglesia de San Felipe es un edificio del románico tardío, se data en el siglo XIII, la iglesia tiene 3 naves con cubierta de bóvedas de crucería, y la central con bóveda de cañón apuntada con ábside de cuarto de esfera; la fachada principal es abocinada y ligeramente apuntada, con canecillos zoomórficos.

Entrada gratuita y horario de 10:00 a 19:30 de lunes a domingo.

CHURCH OF SAN FELIPE (BRIHUEGA)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The church of San Felipe is a Late Romanesque building, is dated in the 13 th century, the church has 3 naves with roof of ribbed vault and the central nave with Gothic barrel vault and in the apse a quarter of sphere; the Mayor façade is conical and slightly Gothic, with zoomorphic corvels.
