CATEDRAL DE SIGUENZA

La catedral es uno de los edificios más notables, tiene un aspecto de fortaleza, sus orígenes son románicos, en la fachada tiene un gran rosetón, después con el gótico se hizo el claustro, muros superiores y crucero.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

El horario de la catedral de Sigüenza es de 9:30-14:00 y de 16:30-20:00, con entrada gratuita, hay también visitas guiadas.

The cathedral is one of the most remarkable buildings, has a fortress aspect, its origins are Romanesque, tha façade has a large rosette; after in Gothic times was made the cloister, upper walls and the cruise.

CASTILLO DE SIGUENZA

El castillo de Sigüenza es hoy en día Parador Nacional, de el parten las murallas, es un edificio de mampostería, con torreones semicirculares, matacanes y almenas.

MURALLA DE SIGUENZA

De la antigua muralla medieval quedan algunos tramos, torreones y puertas (5 en total), son muy conocidas la puerta del Sol, de arco semicircular y la puerta del Hierro, con torreones semicirculares y arco semicircular.

PLAZA DE LA CARCEL DE SIGUENZA

La Plaza de la Cárcel, fue la plaza mayor en época medieval, pues tenía los edificios más importantes como el ayuntamiento en el lado Norte con 5 arcos, también en esta plaza se ubicaba la cárcel y la posada del Sol.

THE PRISON SQUARE OF SIGÜENZA

The Prison Square was the Mayor Square in Medieval times, becuse had the most important buildings like the Town hall in the north side with 5 arches, also in this square is located the prison and the Hostal of El Sol.

CASA DEL DONCEL DE SIGUENZA

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

La Casa del Doncel es una buena muestra del gótico civil castellano, en el exterior destacan los arcos con grandes dovelas, los escudos y el remate almenado, hoy en día es la sede del Archivo Histórico Municipal, en el interior sobresalen las yeserías mudéjares. También es recomendable el Museo Diocesano.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

El horario de la casa del Doncel es de sábados a domingos de 11:00-14:00 y el museo diocesano esta abierto de viernes a sábado de 11:00-14:00 y de 16:00-20:00, los domingos abre de 11:00-14:00 y de 16:00-19:00 (cerrado entre enero y marzo).

La Casa del Doncel is a good example of Civil Castillian Gothic, outside we emphasize the arches with big voussoirs, the shields and the battlements; today is the headquearters of the Historic Town Archive; inside we emphasize the Musejar plasterwork. The Diocesan Museum is also recommended.

The Casa del Doncel has a timetable from Saturday to Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm and the Diocesan Museum is open from Friday to Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm; on Sundays it opens from 11 am to 2 pm and from 4 to 7 (closed January-March).

IGLESIA DE SANTIAGO DE SIGUENZA

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Templo románico, erigido en el siglo XII, con una única nave, rectangular dividida en 6 sectores, con el coro a los pies; al oeste tiene la fachada y al este el ábside. La fachada es abocinada con 7 arquivoltas, pero el tímpano es renacentista.

CHURCH OF SANTIAGO (SIGÜENZA)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

Romanesque temple, built in the 12 th century, with a single nave, rectangular, divided in 6 sections, with choir in the start, the façade faces west and tha apse faces east. The façade is conical with 7 archivolts, but the tymphanum is Renaissance.

IGLESIA DE SAN VICENTE DE SIGUENZA

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Es una iglesia románica, quizás del siglo XII, con virgen gótica; en el interior tenemos una única nave, cubierta con techumbre de madera; en el altar sobresale el Cristo policromado de los siglos XII-XIII.

CHURCH OF SAN VICENTE (SIGÜENZA)

It´s a Romanesque church, maybe from 12 th century, with a Gothic virgin, inside we have a single nave, covered with a wood roofing; in the altar highlights the polichrome Christ from 12 th -13 th centuries.

Sigüenza se ubica cerca de la A-2, se puede acceder por el PK. 118.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS

Prácticamente todos los enclaves son visitables con silla de ruedas, con pequeñas barreras (algunos escalones), asi que podrás visitar la catedral, parte de la Casa del Doncel, museo diocesano y exterior del castillo (Parador-Nacional).

Siguenza is located near the A-2, can be accessed by PK 118.

ACCESS FOR THE HANDICAPPED

Practically all the sites are accessible with wheelchair, with small barriers (some stairs), you can visit the catedral, part of Casa del Doncel, the Diocesan Museum and the outside castle (Parador-National).
