MOTRICO (Mutriku en euskera): Es una pequeña localidad marinera, que pertenece al Bajo Deva, la costa tiene acantilados muy bonitos, siendo el monte Arno el más notable del municipio.

Mutriku tiene monumentos muy interesantes como la iglesia de la Asunción, palacetes, casonas, la lonja Zaharra y el Museo Bentalekua.

Es una visita para descubrir tranquilamente los rincones de este bonito pueblo.

En el pueblo hay rutas de senderismo muy interesantes y atractivas. Algunas están señalizadas (carteles y balizas).

MOTRICO: Hay poco aparcamiento, no es recomendable adentrarse mucho. Hay un parking pequeño (Parking Churruca).

El aparcamiento es de pago. La ubicación del aparcamiento recomendado es muy cercana.

Vernur colabora con muchos ayuntamientos en la regulación del tráfico de sus municipios, evitando colapsar algunas zonas, lo que provocaría “Turismofobia”, facilitando a la vez el acceso del visitante tanto al aparcamiento como a los centros históricos.

MOTRICO: En cuanto al firme tenemos (caminos de piedra). Pavimento recio y compacto. Respecto al desnivel es una zona plana, con cuestas. No hay bordillos en las aceras.

En cuanto al acceso tenemos escaleras en la Asunción y un escalón alto en el palacio Arretakua.

INFO HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La Iglesia de La Asunción (Mutriku) es uno de los mejores ejemplos de arquitectura neoclásica en el País Vasco, es una obra del madrileño Silvestre Pérez.

Es de planta de cruz griega, es de sillería, con fachada dórica imitando a un templo griego. Dentro sobresale el Cristo de Zurbarán.

Mutriku es un pueblo vinculado al mar, con una arquitectura popular muy interesante, que podemos ver en sus laberínticas calles, tenemos casas-torres, palacios urbanos y mansiones.

Hay rincones muy bonitos como la plaza de Churruca (con el ayuntamiento del siglo XVIII y el palacio Galdona del siglo XVII) y el bonito puerto viejo.
