CASTILLO (ARACENA)

El castillo de Aracena es una construcción árabe, reconstruida por los cristianos en el siglo XIII. Las torres son cuadradas, conserva las escaleras de acceso al adarve. Dentro del castillo pueden verse viviendas andalusíes, incluso un aljibe.

VISITA : Horario de verano (junio-septiembre) a las 11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 18:00, 19:00 y 20:00. Horario de invierno (octubre-mayo) a las 11:45, 12:45, 13:45, 16:00, 17:00 y 17:45. Todos los días duración 50 minutos. Entrada 2,5 €.

CASTLE (ARACENA)

The castle of Aracena is an Arab building, rebuilt by Christians in 13th century. The towers are square, it preserves the access stairs to the wall walk. Inside the castle you can see the Andalusi houses, even a cistern.

VISIT : Summer time (June-September) at 11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 18:00, 19:00 and 20:00. Winter timetable (October-May) at 11:45, 12:45, 13:45, 16:00, 17:00 and 17:45. Every day lasts 50 minutes. €2.5 tickets.

IGLESIA DE LA ASUNCIÓN (ARACENA)

La iglesia de Nuestra Señora de La Asunción de Aracena, es un edificio del siglo XVI, de estilo Renacentista, atribuido a Diego de Riaño; el edificio consta de 3 naves, cubiertas con casetones del Renacimiento y una bella cúpula hemisférica.

CHURCH OF LA ASUNCIÓN (ARACENA)

The church Nuestra Señora de La Asunción of Aracena is a building of 16 th century, of Renaissance style, attributed to Diego de Riaño; The building has 3 naves, covered with Renaissance caissons and a beautiful hemispheric dome.

GRUTA DE LAS MARAVILLAS (ARACENA)

La gruta de las Maravillas de Aracena es una excepcional formación geológica con estalagmitas, estalactitas, columnas y gran número de lagos, de gran belleza. El recorrido es circular, existiendo galerías en 3 niveles diferentes.

CAVERN LAS MARAVILLAS (ARACENA)

The cavern of Las Maravillas de Aracena is an excepcional geological formation with stalagmites, stalactites, columns and a great number of lakes, of great beauty. The route is circular, there are galleries in 3 different levels.

IGLESIA DEL CASTILLO (ARACENA)

Junto al castillo se ubica la iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Mayor Dolor, de Aracena, el templo se data en los siglos XIII, XIV y XV; dispone de 3 naves, bóvedas estrelladas y destaca la tribuna del coro, de estilo gótico; en el exterior sobresale la torre mudéjar.

Next to the castle is the church of Nuestra Señora del Mayor Dolor, of Aracena; the temple dates back to the 13 th , 14 th and 15 th centuries; it has 3 naves, starry vaults and highlights the choir stand, in Gothic style; outside the Mudéjar tower stands out.

La iglesia de Santo Domingo de Aracena es un edificio de estilo gótico-mudéjar, con cronología del siglo XV, sabemos que antiguamente llego a ser un hospital, también fue convento dominico entre los siglos XVI y XIX.

CHURCH OF SANTO DOMINGO (ARACENA)

The church of Santo Domingo of Aracena is a building of Gothic-Mudéjar style, with chronology of the 15 th century, we know that this church was a hospital, it was also a Dominican convent between the 16 th and 19 th centuries.

PUERTA DEL CASTILLO (ARACENA)

Una curiosa puerta a modo de espadaña con 4 campanas, marca el acceso a la cima del cerro donde se ubica el castillo, es una construcción de ladrillo de estilo mudéjar-barroco; la entrada es un arco de medio punto y el perfil de volutas es muy típico del Barroco.

VISITA : Visita exterior libre.

THE GATE OF THE CASTLE (ARACENA)

A curious gate like a belltower, with 4 bells, marks the access to the top of the hill, where the castle is located, it is a brick building of Mudéjar-Baroque style; the entrance is a semicircular arch and the volute profile is very typical of the Baroque.

VISIT : Free exterior visit.

HOTEL-CONVENTO (ARACENA)

El Convento de Aracena es un hotel, que se ubica sobre un convento del siglo XVII, con un bello claustro y jardines que invitan a la tranquilidad y a la paz; el edificio es principalmente de ladrillo, de estilo mudéjar, con una ejemplar restauración.

VISITA : Visita exterior, salvo que seas cliente.

HOTEL CONVENT (ARACENA)

The convent of Aracena is a hotel, which is located on a convent of the 17th century, with a beautiful cloister and gardens, which invite tranquillity and peace; the building is mainly of brick, of Mudéjar style, with an exemplary restoration.

VISIT : Visit ouside, except if you are a client.

ACCESO A ARACENA :

El acceso a Aracena se realiza por la N-433, que atraviesa la localidad, los enclaves se encuentran casi todos en la zona más alta de Aracena.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS :

Con silla de ruedas podemos hacer una visita exterior al castillo, a la iglesia del castillo y al Hotel-convento (salvo que seas cliente). Si se puede entrar en la iglesia de Santo Domingo y en la iglesia de la Asunción. No se puede entrar en la Gruta de las Maravillas.

ACCESS TO ARACENA :

Access to Aracena is by the N-433, which crosses the town, the sites are almost all in the highest area of Aracena.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED :

With a wheelchair we can make an outside visit to the castle, the castle church and the Hotel-convent (if you are a client). you can enter in the church of Santo Domingo and in the church of La Asunción. You can't enter in the Cavern of Las Maravillas.

El Castillo de Santa Olalla del Cala es un castillo de origen árabe, podría datarse en el siglo XII por su entrada en recodo, es un edificio de mampostería, dispone de 10 torres, semicirculares y rectangulares, las almenas tienen un remate piramidal.

CASTLE (STA OLALLA)

The castle of Santa Olalla del cala is a castle of Arab origin, it could be dated in the 12th century by its entrance in a bend, it is a rubblework building, has 10 towers, semicircular and rectangular, the battlements have a piramidal top.

CASTILLO (ZUFRE)

El castillo de Zufre es un castillo andalusí, que data de los siglos XII y XIII y se vincula sobre todo al Imperio Almohade, después los cristianos reformaron el edificio en los siglos XIII-XIV. La Torre de la Harina es la estructura más interesante del edificio.

VISITA : Junto a la puerta del Ayuntamiento arrancan las visitas al castillo que se realizan a las 12:00 y a las 16:00 horas, son gratuitas.

CASTLE (ZUFRE)

The castle of Zufre is an Andalusi castle, dating from the 12th and 13th centurias and is linked with the Almohad Empire, after the Christians reformed the building in the 13th-14th centuries. The Tower of La Harina (flour) is the most interesting structure of this building.
