La iglesia de San Salvador es del siglo XVIII-XIX, es de estilo neoclásico; se construyó sobre un templo medieval; el exterior tiene un aire sobrio y clásico con silería, destacando la fachada de orden dórico gigante; en el interior vemos 3 naves y el retablo mayor de estilo neogótico.

El Monasterio de Santa María de Sigena, es una construcción del siglo XII, de estilo románico, con algún elemento gótico; se construyó en sillería; en el exterior sobresale la amplia portada con arquivoltas, los canecillos y la espadaña.

The Monastery of Santa María de Sigena, is a building of the 12 th century, of Romanesque style, with some Gothic element; it was built in ashlar masonry; on the outside, the wide doorway with archivolts, the corbels and the bell gable stands out.

La iglesia de San Pedro de Marcen, se data en los siglos XII y XIII, es una construcción de sillería, se ubica en una meseta rocosa, consta de elementos románicos portada; mientras el recrecimiento superior es del siglo XVI y el interior se encuentra encalado, con bóveda de cañón.

The church of San Pedro of Marcen, dating from the 12 th and 13 th centuries, is a ashlar masonry building, it is located on a rocky plateau, it has Romanesque elements on its façade; while the upper regrowth is from the 16 th century and inside is whitewashed, with a barrel vault.

La iglesia de San Nicolás de Fraella es una iglesia de estilo románico, del siglo XII, construida en sillería; en el exterior destaca la espadaña y la portada románica con arquivoltas; en el interior destacan la bóveda de cañón, las pinturas del siglo XVIII y la sacristía gótica con bóveda de crucería.

The church of San Nicolás of Fraella is a church of Romanesque style, from the 12 th century, built in ashlar masonry; inside we stands out the bell gable and the Romanesque façade with archivolts; inside we stand out the barrel vault, the paintings of the 18 th century and the gothic sacristy with a ribbed vault.

PALACIO DE LOS GURREA (ARGAVIESO)

El Palacio de los Gurrea de Argavieso es un palacio fortificado del siglo XV, pero sus orígenes se remontan al siglo XI; construido en sillería, es de planta rectangular, el acceso es un arco apuntado gótico, con el blasón de los Gurrea (2 lobos); estado de conservación ruinoso.

PALACE OF GUREA (ARGAVIESO)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The palace of the Gurrea de Argavieso is a fortified palace from the 15 th century, but its origins go back to the 11 th century; built in ashlar masonry, it is rectangular in plan, the access is a pointed Gothic arch, with the coat of arms of the Gurrea (2 wolves); ruinous conservation state.

ACCESO A CARRETERA (MONEGROS)

UBICACIÓN DE ENCLAVES:

El centro patrimonial de esta comarca lo situamos en Sariñena, a donde puedes acceder desde Fraga (ubicada en la N-II en el tramo Zaragoza-Lleida), por la A-131. Entre Fraga y Sariñena se ubica Villanueva de Sigena. Entre Sariñena y Huesca tenemos la A-131 desde donde puede accederse a Argavieso, Fraella y Marcén.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVALIDOS:

Con silla de ruedas el acceso no es factible a la iglesia de El Salvador de Sariñena (ligero resalte y cerco de madera ); tampoco a la iglesia de San Nicolás de Fraella ( cerco de la puerta ); ni a la iglesia de San Pedro de Marcén (cerrada), en la entrada al monasterio de Sigena hay varios escalones. El Palacio de los Gurrea se encuentra cerrado y en ruinas.

LOCATION

The heritage center of this region is located in Sariñena, where you can access from Fraga (located on the N-II, section Zaragoza-Lleida), on the A-131. Villanueva de Sigena is located between Fraga and Sariñena. Between Sariñena and Huesca we have the A-131 from where you can access to Argavieso, Fraella and Marcen.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED

Wheelchair access is not feasible to the church of El Salvador of Sariñena (light step and wood frame); neither to the church of San Nicolas de Fraella (frame of the door); not to the church of San Pedro de Marcén (closed), at the entrance to the Sigena monastery there are several steps. The Palace of Gurrea is closed and ruined.
