IGLESIA DE SAN TIRSO SAHAGUN

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Es una de las primeras iglesias románico-mudéjares de Castilla. La torre ubicada sobre el tramo presbiterial del ábside tiene 3 tramos de arquerías, que le dan un aire monumental.

Además en Sahagún tienes la iglesia de San Lorenzo, mudéjar (cronología de los siglos XI-XIII) y el arco de San Benito.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

La iglesia de San Tirso tiene los siguientes horarios: El horario de invierno (octubre-marzo) es de miércoles a sábado de 10:40-14:00 y de 15:00-17:50, el domingo solo abre de 10:40-14:00.

El Horario de verano (abril-septiembre) es de miércoles a sábado de 10:15-14:00 y de 16:30-20:00, el domingo es de 10:15-14:00. Siempre cierra lunes y martes. Entrada gratuita.

CHURCH OF SAN TIRSO (SAHAGUN)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

It is one of the first churches Romanesque-Mudejar of Castile. The tower located on the presbytery of the apse has 3 sections of arches, which give it a monumental air.

Also in Sahagun we have the church of S. Lorenzo, also Mudejar (chronology of the 11 th -13 th centuries) and the arch of S. Benito.

S. Tirso has several timetables: The winter time (October-March) is from Wednesday to Saturday from 10,40 am to 2 pm and from 3 pm to 5,50 pm; Sunday only opens from 10,40 am to 2 pm.

The summer timetable (Abril-September) is from Wednesday to Saturday from 10,15 am to 2 pm and 4,50 pm - 8 pm; Sundays is 10,15 am – 2 pm. Always closes Monday and Tuesday. Free taxes.

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El Monasterio de San Benito (Sahagún) se conserva en ruinas, tenemos elementos del siglo XII (Capilla de San Mancio) de estilo románico mudéjar, también destaca la torre del reloj (la única conservada, pues tuvo 2). Tuvo un destacado papel en la reforma cluniacense en Castilla y León, el monasterio fue abandonado tras varios incendios en el curso de las desamortizaciones del siglo XIX.

The Monastery of San Benito (Sahagún) is preserved in ruins, we have elements of the 12 th century (Chapel of San Mancio) of Romanesque-Mudejar style, also highlights de clock tower (the only preserved, then had 2). It had a prominent role in the Cluniac reform in Castille and León, the monastery was abandoned after several fires in the course of the confiscations of the 19 th century.

El Arco de San Benito (Sahagún) es una estructura que formaba parte del propio monasterio de San Benito, se construyó en el siglo XVII y es obra del arquitecto Felipe Berrojo, la edificación reproduce la fachada de iglesias de aquella época, con buenos contrafuertes, estilizado frontón y pináculos esferoidales.

UBICACIÓN

SAHAGÚN: Sahagún está ubicada en el mismo camino de Santiago, hoy se puede acceder a ella por la A-231 (Burgos-León) o por la N-120, que sigue en buena parte el Camino de Santiago.

ACCESO PARA MUNSVALIDOS

SAHAGÚN: Solo tiene un escalón en la entrada. Podrás acceder con silla de ruedas al interior de estas iglesias, solo hasta la nave central.
