SEO DE URGEL: Es la capital del Alto Urgel, es la ciudad de los obispos y copríncipes, la localidad se ubica entre los ríos Segre y La Valira. Desde Cataluña, Seo de Urgel es la puerta de entrada a Andorra.

El casco histórico de Seo de Urgel, es muy pequeño, se recorre rápidamente, está lleno de casas de piedra y soportales, con rincones muy bonitos.

Entre los principales monumentos destacamos la catedral de Santa María un excepcional edificio románico, el monumental edificio del Seminario Conciliar y la Casa de la Ciutat (ayuntamiento). Seo de Urgel tiene buenos museos, destacamos en concreto el Diocesano y la Sala Sant Domenec. A la afueras se ubica el Castell de Ciutat, que pertenece a Seo de Urgel.

SEO DE URGEL: El acceso principal se realiza por la carretera C-14 que conduce a Seu de Urgel y Bellver. Puedes coger la C-14 desde Tarrega en la A-2 (Lérida-Barcelona).

La N-260 conecta La Seu d'Urgell con Sort y con Puigcerdà.

INFO HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La catedral de Seu de Urgel es de estilo románico-lombardo, pero hay muchos elementos de otros estilos. Se data en el siglo XI-XII. En el exterior destaca el ábside con su galería de arcos.

Dentro sobresalen el coro, las rejas, vidrieras y retablos del siglo XV. También recomendamos la visita al Museo Diocesano con una interesante miniatura mozárabe de inicios del siglo X.

La iglesia de Santa María del Talló (Bellver de Cerdanya) es de estilo románico. Se data en el siglo XII.

Fuera destaca la torre campanario de 22 m. de altura del s XVII, así como la puerta románica con sus herrajes románicos. Dentro sobresale la bóveda de cañón.

MONASTERIO DE SAN SATURNINO DE TABERNOLAS (ANSERALL)

Conserva la cabecera de la iglesia, el ábside se orienta al Oeste, también conserva el transepto, tuvo 3 naves, pero poco se conserva hoy y el claustro esta arrasado. Estilo románico, aunque con orígenes visigodos.

Desde Lérida vamos a Balaguer por la C-13, y después cogeremos la ruta Artesa de Segre, Ponts, Oliana, Organya (todas en la C-14), hasta Seu de Urgel. Se encuentra justo al norte de Seu de Urgel.
