Viella: Monumentos y turismo

VIELLA (en aranés Vielha) es una localidad, capital del Valle de Arán; se ubica en la confluencia de los ríos Garona y Rio Negro, en la que se encuentran la bonita iglesia de San Miguel y la ermita de Santa María.

Muy cerca de Viella podemos visitar otros pueblos con hermosas iglesias al más puro estilo aranés, como Arties (Santa María), Salardú (S. Andrés), Vilnac (S. Feliu).

Hay que terminar recordando que nos encontramos muy cerca de la estación de esquí de Baqueira Beret.

En el pueblo hay rutas de senderismo muy interesantes y atractivas. Algunas están señalizadas (carteles y balizas).

VIELLA (In Aranese Vielha) is a town, capital of the Valle de Arán; it is located at the confluence of the Garona and Rio Negro Rivers, where the church of San Miguel and the hermitage of Santa María are located.

Very close to Viella we can visit other towns with beautiful churches in the purest Aranese style, such as Arties (Santa María), Salardú (S. Andrés), Vilnac (S. Feliu).

We must finish by remembering that we are very close to the Baqueira Beret ski resort.

In the village there are Hiking routes very interesting and amazing. Some routes are marked (signs and beacons).

VIELLA: Desde Lérida dirigirse por la C-13 pasando por Tremp y Pobla de Segur.

Cogemos la N-260 que nos lleva a Pont de Suert y poco después la N-230 a Viella, capital del valle de Arán desde donde se accede a Vilnac, Arties, Salardú y otros pueblos.

Otros accesos son la C-28 desde Sort. O Desde Francia (Tarbes y Sant-Bertrand-de-Comminges).

VIELLA: From Lleida take the C-13 through Tremp and Pobla de Segur.

We take the N-260 we through by Pont the Suert and shortly after by N-230 to Viella, capital of the valley of Aran from where you can access to Vilnac, Salardú, Arties and other towns.

VIELLA: Hay poco aparcamiento, no es recomendable adentrarse mucho. Hay un parking grande a 100 m. Parking gratis.

ARTIES: Es mejor aparcar a la entrada, antes del puente. Hay 250 m. (puente-iglesia).

SALARDU: Hay un parking a solo 150 m. de la iglesia. El aparcamiento es gratuito.

VILNAC: Hay un parking pequeño a la entrada. Parking gratis.

Vernur colabora con muchos ayuntamientos en la regulación del tráfico de sus municipios.

La iglesia de S. Miguel de Viella fue erigida en estilo románico tardío, pero con bellos elementos góticos, al haberse construido junto a una antigua fortificación la torre conserva un aire fortificado, en origen tuvo ventanas de medio punto pero fueron retiradas para poner el campanario.

The church of San Miguel de Viella was built in Late-Romanesque style, but with Gothic elements, like was built next to an old fortification, the tower preserve a fortified style, originally S. Miguel had windows with semicircular arches, but were removed to install a bell-tower.
