INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La Iglesia de San Juan de Portomarín se remonta al siglo XII, es de estilo románico, debido a la construcción de la presa de Belesar, fue desmontada piedra a piedra y trasladada a su actual emplazamiento. La iglesia de San Juan (también llamada de S. Nicolás), es de buena sillería, tiene aspecto de fortaleza, destaca el gran rosetón, las arquivoltas de la fachada con rica decoración escultórica y la bóveda de cañón gótica.

Horario de lunes a domingo de 10:00 a 13:00 y de 16:00 a 20:00.

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The church of San Juan de Portomarín dates back to the 12 th century, it is of Romanesque style, due to the construction of the dam of Belesar, it was dismantles stone by stone and moved to its current location. The church of San Juan (also called S. Nicolás), is of good ashlar masonry, looks like a fortress; stands out the large rose window, the archivolts of the facade with rich sculptural decoration and the Gothic barrel vault.
