CASTILLO DE VILALBA

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Con cronología bajomedieval, de los siglos XIII-XV, el castillo esta relacionado con la revolución de los “Irmandiños”, producto de la cual fue destruida la muralla y tan solo se conserva la torre de homenaje. La torre de homenaje, es de planta octogonal, almenada con matacanes, con pocas saeteras. La torre medieval hoy se integra en el Hotel-parador.

CASTLE OF VILALBA

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

With a late medieval chronology, from the 13 th to 15 th centuries, the castle is related with the “Irmandiños” Revolution, product of which the wall was destroyed and only the Keep is preserved today. The keep is octogonal, with battlements, machicolations, with few arrow-loops. The medieval tower today is integrated into the Hotel Parador.

CASTRO DE VILADONGA (CASTRO DE REI)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

El yacimiento de Viladonga tiene cabañas rectangulares y circulares, de varias murallas, con una acrópolis y fosos defensivos. Muy interesante es el museo monográfico, con cerámicas (castreña y sigillata gallega), objetos de bronce, hierro, azabache; incluso pendientes de oro.

Es un castro cuya cronología arranca en la Edad del Hierro (siglos III-I a.C.) con una fase de romanización de los siglos I-V d.C. Con excavaciones por parte de Chamoso (años 70') y Felipe Arias (años 80').

HILLFORT OF VILADONGA (CASTRO DE REI)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The site has rectangular and circular huts, several walls, with an acropolis and defensive moats. Very interesting is the monographic museum, with ceramics (Castreña and Gallician sigillata), objects of bronze, iron, jet; even gold earrings.

It is a hillfort whose chronology begins in the Iron Age (3 rd -1 st centuries BC) with a Romanization phase of the 1 st -5 th centuries AD. With excavations by Chamoso (70's) and Felipe Arias (80's).

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

Esta abierto todos los días, salvo festivos (1 y 6 de Enero y 24, 25 y 31 de Diciembre), de marzo a octubre de 10:00 a 20:00 h. y de noviembre a febrero de 10:00 a 19:00 h. Entrada 2:40 € y reducida para múltiples colectivos (menores de 18 años, jubilados, grupos etc…).

It is open every day except holidays (1 st and 6 th January and 24 th , 25 th and 31th December), from March to October from 10 am to 8 pm, and from November to February from 10am to 7pm, rate € 2,40 and reduced rates for several groups (under 18 years, retirees, groups etc...).

IGLESIA DE SAN JUAN DE LAGOSTELLE (GUITIRIZ)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

Conocida como la iglesia vieja en el pueblo; fue construida en el siglo XIV, sufriendo diversas reformas, sobre todo en el barroco, la fachada de recia sillería es barroca con relieve de San Juan Bautista, en un lateral se ubica un pórtico con columnas; dentro destacan las capillas barrocas y la capilla mayor de estilo gótico

CHURCH OF SAN JUAN OF LAGOSTELLE (GUITIRIZ)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

Knew like the Old church in the town; was built in the 15 th century, and suffered some reforms, the most importants in the Baroque, the façade of strong ashlar is Baroque with a relief of San Juan Bautista, in the side is located a porch with columns; inside we highlight the Baroque chapels, and the Altar Mayor of Gothic style.

UBICACIÓN - TERRA CHÁ

VILALBA: Vilalba se encuentra a tan solo 37 Km. al norte de Lugo, y el castillo se ubica en pleno casco histórico. VILADONGA: Coger la carretera que une Lugo y Ribadeo, la N-640 y en el Km. 70 veras un indicador permite un fácil acceso al yacimiento. GUITIRIZ: Entre A Coruña y Lugo.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS

VILALBA: Es una zona urbana accesible a minusválidos, pero el interior esta estructurado por una escalera ascendente. VILADONGA: Firme irregular en el castro para sillas de ruedas, solo accesible en algunos sectores. GUITIRIZ: Acceso sencillo para sillas de rueda.

LOCATION - TERRA CHÁ

VILALBA: Vilalba is located just 37 Km north of Lugo, and the castle is located in the historic center. VILADONGA: Take the road linking Lugo and Ribadeo, the N-640 and in the Km 70 you will see and signpost that allow easy access to the site. GUITIRIZ: Between A Coruña and Lugo.

VILALBA: Is is an urban area accesible to handicapped people, but inside is structured by an ascending staircase. VILADONGA: Irregular surface in the hillfort for wheelchairs, only accessible in some areas. GUITIRIZ: Easy access for wheelchairs.
