La torre medieval de Barcelos, es una torre datada en el siglo XV, de sillería, en el siglo XVI se añadio el remate renacentista y almenas. Fue prisión pero en el siglo XX se ha transformado en Oficina de Turismo,

MEDIEVAL TOWER (BARCELOS)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The medieval toser of Barcelos, is a toser dating from the 15th century of ashlar masonry, in the 16th century the Renaissance top and battlements were added. It was a prison but in the 20 th century it has been transformed into a Tourist Office.

CHAFARIZ (BARCELOS)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El chafariz de Barcelos es una estructura del siglo XVIII, compuesta por 3 pilas donde se retiene el agua, levantado del plano de la calle por 4 escalones; la pila inferior es octogonal y en su centro hay una columna bulbosa que sostiene a las pilas superiores. El chafariz es un icono de Barcelos.

The Barcelos fountain is an 18 th century structure, made up of 3 fonts where the water is retaines, raised from the street level by 4 steps; the lower font is octagonal and its center there is a bulbous column that supports the upper font. The fountain is an icon of Barcelos.

IGLESIA DA CRUZ (BARCELOS)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La iglesia del Buen Jesús de la Cruz (Señor Bom Jesús da Cruz) de Barcelos, es una bellísima iglesia del siglo XVIII, obra del arquitecto Joao Antunes, es de estilo barroco, en el interior destacan los mosaicos y azulejos que representan el tema de la Pasión de Jesús.

The church of Good Jesus of the Cross (Senhor Bom Jesus da Cruz) of Barcelos, is a beautiful church of 18 th century, work of the architect Joao Antunes, is of Baroque style, inside we emphasize the mosaics and the tiles that represent the subject of The Passion of Jesus.

El Paço dos condes de Barcelos (también llamado Palacio de los duques de Bragança, es un edificio del siglo XV, mandado construir por Don Alfonso I de Portugal, hoy tan solo se pueden admirar unas bonitas ruinas de un edificio de sillería de piedra con una larga chimenea; hoy es un Museo Arqueológico al aire libre.

Horario 9:00-19:00 (verano) y 9:00-17:30 (invierno) entrada gratuita.

The Paço dos condes de Barcelos (also called Palace of the Dukes of Bragança), is a 15 th century building, built by Don Afonso I of Portugal, tofay you can pnly admire some beautiful ruins of a stone ashlar masonry building with a Long chimney, today is an open air Archaeological Museum.

PUENTE MEDIEVAL (BARCELOS)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El puente medieval de Barcelos, es de estilo gótico, se data a inicios del siglo XIV, todavía hoy en día soporta el trafico rodado; sin embargo el puente actual es un conjunto de restauraciones (algunas no muy afortunadas), destacando los refuerzos de las pilas.

The medieval bridge of Barcelos, is of gothic style, it dated at the beginning of the 14 th century, still today it supports the traffic rolled; however, the current bridge is a set of restotarions (some not very fortunate), highlighting the reinforcements of the foundations.

Acceso factible a la torre medieval (solo primera planta), al chafariz, a la iglesia de la Santa Cruz (por detrás accederás a la plataforma superior) y al puente medieval (acera estrecha); incluso al Paço dos Condes (suelen tener una rampa en la escalera de acceso).

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED

Feasible access to the medieval tower (only first floor), to the fountain, to the church of Santa Cruz (behind you will access the upper platform) and to the medieval bridge (narrow sidewalk), even to Paço dos Condes (they usually have a ramp on the access starry).
