La iglesia de El Salvador de Caravaca, es una construcción religiosa que data del siglo XVI, predomina el estilo renacentista; en el exterior destaca la fachada con columnas, arco de medio punto y hornacina del Salvador; ene. Interior destaca el retablo mayor, que procede de la iglesia de los jesuitas de (1758).

El Museo Arqueológico de Caravaca, se ubica en la antigua iglesia de La Soledad, es un edificio del siglo XVI, las colecciones son muy variadas destacando las de época ibérica y tiempos romanos (cerámicas, bronces, moneda, escultura…).

		SANTUARIO DE LA VERACRUZ (CARAVACA) INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA El santuario de la Veracruz de Caravaca, es una construcción religiosa del siglo XVII y XVIII, predominan los estilos renacentista y barroco; en el interior destaca la planta de cruz latina, 3 naves, cúpula en el crucero, así como la Capilla Mayor; en el exterior es soberbia la fachada barroca del siglo XVIII, con mármoles de colores, en la hornacina puede verse la Cruz de Caravaca. CASTILLO (MORATALLA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El castillo medieval de Moratalla, se remonta a tiempos andalusíes, posiblemente se construyó en el siglo IX, pero fue reconstruido primero por la Orden de Santiago y después en el siglo XV con estilo gótico levantino; la torre de homenaje tiene 22 m.; el patio de armas a perdido la galería porticada; en el recinto había 5 torres más y un aljibe.

CASTLE (MORATALLA)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The medieval castle of Moratalla, dates back to Andalusian times, possibly was built in the 9 th century, but was rebuilt first by the Order of Santiago and then in the 15 th century with Levantine Gothic style; the keep has 22 m. (72,16 ft); the courtyard has lost the porticoed gallery; in the enclosure there were 5 more towers and a cistern.

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La iglesia de La Asunción de Moratalla es una construcción religiosa del siglo XVI, de estilo renacentista; poco se conserva de tiempos góticos (algún ventanal del siglo XV); por el contrario hay diversas reformas del barroco; en el interior podemos ver bóvedas de crucería estrellada del gótico final, mientras la decoración pictórica es del siglo XX.

The church of La Asunción de Moratalla is a 16 th century religious building, in the Renaissance style; little is preserved from Gothic times (some window from 15 th century); but there are several Baroque elements; inside we can see starry ribbed vaults of Late-Gothic, while the pictorial decorartion if of 20 th century.

La iglesia y convento de San Francisco de Moratalla es una obra de los siglos XVI a XVIII, con la desamortización se perdió el viejo convento, del que solo sobrevive la fachada, formando parte de la Casa consistorial de Moratalla.

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The church and convent of San Francisco of Moratalla is a work from 16 th -18 th centuries, with the confiscation the old convent was lost, of which only the façade survives, forming part of the Town Hall of Moratalla.

		ACCESO POR CARRETERA (CAMPO DE CARAVACA) UBICACIÓN DE ENCLAVES: El acceso más sencillo es por la RM-15. CARAVACA Y MORATALLA: Los monumentos se ubican en ambos casos en el casco histórico en la zona más elevada. ACCESO PARA MINUSVALIDOS: CARAVACA: Con silla de ruedas el acceso no es factible al Museo Arqueológico de Caravaca. Pero si es factible a la Iglesia de El Salvador (una rampa salva los 2 escalones de la entrada), mientras al santuario puede accederse por una rampa por el lateral. MORATALLA: Con silla de ruedas acceso no factible al castillo, ni a la iglesia de La Asunción (escalón).				ACCESS BY ROAD (CARAVACA-MORATALLA) LOCATION The easiest access is by the RM-15. CARAVACA AND MORATALLA: The monuments are located in both cases in the historic center in the highest area. ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED CARAVACA: With Wheelchair access is not feasible to the Archaeological Mseum of Caravaca. But it is feasible to the church of El Salvador (a ramp saves the 2 steps of the entrance), while the sanctuary can be accesed by a ramp on the side. MORATALLA: With Wheelchair access is not feasible to the castle, or the church of La Asunción (step).
