The church of San Esteban de Zabaldika is a temple that dates from the 13 th century, in Romanesque style. Built in ashlar masonry we can admire the archivolts doorway, sheltered in a short porch; the bell tower is rectangular.

La iglesia de San Esteban de Erro es una iglesia del siglo XX, construida en sillería almohadillada; el acceso se realiza por una escalinata que se bifurca en 2 tramos, dispone de una alta torre cuadrada con reloj.

La iglesia de San Saturnino es una iglesia medieval del siglo XIII, de estilo románico, con importantes reformas del siglo XVI. Destaca la portada con arquivoltas lisas. En el interior tenemos un retablo mayor que data del siglo XVII; también hay elementos de estética churrigueresca.

The church of San Saturnino is a medieval church of the 13 th century, Romanesque style, with important reforms of the 17 th century. The Façade with smooth archivolts stands out. Inside we have a main altarpiece that dates from the 17 th century, there are also elements of churrigueresque aesthetics.

La iglesia de Santiago de Roncesvalles es una pequeña iglesia de estilo gótico, que data del siglo XIII; construida en sillería y sillarejo destaca en el exterior por su portada de arquivoltas apuntadas, el óculo superior y la espadaña para la campana; cobija la efigie de Santiago.

The church of Santiago de Roncesvalles is a small church of Gothic style, dating from the 13 th century; built in ashlar masonry and rubblework masonry stands out on the outside for its facade of pointed archivolts, the upper oculus and the bell gable for the bell; it shelters the effigy of Santiago.

COLEGIATA DE Sª MARIA (RONCESVALLES)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La Real Colegiata de Santa Maria de Roncesvalles, es una construcción de estilo gótico; dispone de 3 naves, se construyó en sillería; en el exterior tenemos una entrada gótica apuntada un gran rosetón y campanario cuadrado; en el interior destaca la imagen de la virgen del siglo XIV (talla de madera forrada en plata, creada en Toulouse), las vidrieras de la cabecera se fabricaron en Alemania.

COLLEGIATE OF Sª MARIA (RONCESVALLES)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The Royal Collegiate-church of Santa Maria of Roncesvalles, is a Gothic style building; it has 3 naves, it was built in ashlar masonry; on the outside we have a Gothic entrance with a large rose window and a square bell tower; inside, the image of the virgin of the 14 th century stands out (wood carving covered in silver, created in Toulouse), the stained glass window of the head were made in Germany.

PUENTE MEDIEVAL (ARIBE)

El puente medieval de Aribe (conocido como “el puente romano”), se ubica junto a la carretera que conduce a la localidad de Garayoa; tiene 3 arcos de anchura desigual, son de sillería (dovelas) y sillarejo.

The medieval bridge of Aribe (known as “the Roman bridge”), is located next to the road that leads to the town of Garayoa; it has 3 arches of unequal width, they are made of ashlar masonry (voussoirs) and rubblework masonry.

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La iglesia de San Pedro de Abaurrea Alta, es de estilo románico y se data en el siglo XII, pero ha sufrido varias reformas en el siglo XIV (incendio) y en el siglo XVI; tiene una única planta, con cabecera poligonal, mientras la portada es renacentista del siglo XVI; en el interior destaca el retablo barroco.

The church of San Pedro de Abaurrea Alta, is of Romanesque style and dates back to the 12 th century, but has undergone several reforms in the 14 th century (fire) and in the 16 th century; it has a single nave, with polygonal head, while the façade is Renaissance of the 16 th century; inside the baroque altarpiece stands out.

MUSEO DE LAS ESTELAS (ABAURREA ALTA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El Museo de Estelas de Abaurrea Alta se ubica justo en la cara norte de la iglesia de San Pedro; son estelas de distintas épocas desde fines del siglo XV a mediados del siglo XIX. Las estelas discoidales son una muestra muy interesante de la religiosidad navarra.

Horario de 11:00-14:00 y 16:30-19:30 (15 de marzo a 15 de noviembre). Miércoles cerrado. Entrada 3 €.

MUSEUM OF THE STELES (ABAURREA ALTA)

The Museum of the steles of Abaurrea Alta is a located right on the north face of the church of San Pedro; they are steles of different periods from the Late-15 th century to the mid-19 th century. The discoidal stele are very intersting sample of Navarrese religiosity.

UBICACIÓN DE ENCLAVES:

Todos los pueblos se ubican en la NA-135 que une Roncesvalles y Pamplona.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVALIDOS:

Con silla de ruedas acceso no factible a San Esteban de Zabaldika (escalón), a San Esteban de Erro (escalones), a San Saturnino de Linzoain (escalón), a Santiago de Roncesvalles (escalón), a la colegiata de Santa María de Roncesvalles (escalón); tampoco podrás visitar la ermita de San Miguel y la iglesia de San Pedro de Abaurrea Alta. Pero el acceso si es factible al puente medieval de Aribe.

ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED

Wheelchair access not feasible to San Esteban de Zabaldika (step), to San Esteban de Erro (step), to San Saturnino de Linzoain (step), to Santiago de Roncesvalles (step), to the collegiate church of Santa Maria de Roncesvalles (step); you can not visit the hermitage of San Miguel and the church of San Pedro de Abaurrea Alta. But access is feasible to the medieval bridge of Aribe.
