MUSEO ARQUEOLÓGICO (OURENSE)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El Museo Arqueológico de Orense se ubica en el Pazo Episcopal, en el centro de Ourense, las colecciones permiten hacer un viaje en el tiempo y conocer objetos del paleolítico, del mundo megalítico, castreño, romano (excepcional colección epigráfica), prerrománica, renacentista y barroca; así como una colección de pintura (siglos XVII-XX).

HORARIOS- ENTRADA

Entrada gratuita. Sala San Francisco: Horario de martes a sábado (9:30-14:30 y 16:00-21:00), domingos (9:30-14:30). Sala Santa María: Horario de lunes a viernes de 9:00-14:00 y de 16:00-20:00 y en verano de lunes a viernes de 9:00-14:30.

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The Archaeological Museum of Orense is located in the Episcopal Palace, in the center of Ourense, the collections allow you to travel through time and know objects from Paleolithic, from the Megalithic world, Hillfort culture, Roman times (exceptional epigraphic collection), pre-Romanesque, Renaissance and Baroque, as well as a collection of paintings (17 th -14 th centuries).

TICKETS AND TIMETABLE

Free entrance. S. Francisco room: Timetable from Tuesday to Saturday (9:30-14:30 and 16:00-21:00), Sundays (9:30-14:30). Santa María room: Timetable from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00 and in summer from Monday to Friday (9:00-14:30).

CATEDRAL (OURENSE)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

La catedral de San Martín de Orense se remonta a los siglos XII (cabecera) y XIII (algunos expertos creen que incluso podría contener restos de la basílica sueva), las obras se extendieron por los siglos XIV, XV y culminaron con el cimborrio en el siglo XVI. La policromía lo invade todo, es espectacular la Puerta del Paraíso, también son de gran belleza la Capilla del Santo Cristo y la Capilla Mayor.

Horarios de lunes a sábados de 11:00-15:00 y 16:00-18:00, los domingos es de 13:00-15:00 y de 16:00-18:30. Entrada 5€.

CATHEDRAL (OURENSE)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The Cathedral of San Martín de Orense dates back to the 12 th (header) and 13 th centuries (some experts believe that it could even contain remains of the Suevic basilica), the works were extended by the 14 th , 15 th and culminating with the dome in the 16 th century. The polychromy invades everything, the gate of Paraiso is spectacular, the chapel of Santo Cristo and the Main chapel are also of great beauty.

Opening hours from Monday to Saturday from 11:00-15:00 and 16:00-18:00, on Sundays it is 13:00-15:00 and 16:00-18:30, ticket 5€.

PUENTE ROMANO (OURENSE)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El puente romano de Orense se remonta al siglo I d.C., pero el arco principal colapsó en el siglo XII y las reparaciones han continuado en el tiempo (siglos XVII y XIX), por lo que el puente es sobre todo medieval, con reparaciones modernas; sabemos que tenía una torre pero la construcción de la nacional supuso su destrucción.

ROMAN BRIDGE (OURENSE)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The Roman bridge of Orense dates back to the 1 st century AD, but the main arch collapsed in the 12 th century and repairs have continued in time (17 th -19 th centuries), so the bridge is mostly medieval, with modern repairs; we know that it had a tower but the building of the national supposed its destruction.

AS BURGAS (OURENSE)

INFORMACIÓN HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

Las fuentes de As Burgas (Ourense), son unos manantiales termales que brotan a 64º-68º C, ubicadas en el mismo casco histórico de Orense; la fuente más antigua es del siglo XVII (la de arriba), la más moderna es la central y la de abajo es de estilo neoclásico; en (2010) se añadió al enclave una piscina termal y se abrió un Centro de Interpretación.

AS BURGAS (OURENSE)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The fountains of As Burgas (Ourense), are thermal springs that sprout at 64º-68º C, located in the historic center of Orense; the oldest fountain is from 17 th century (the upper), the most modern is the central; the fountain below is neoclassical; in (2010) a thermal pool was added in the site and an Interpretation Center was opened.
