CATEDRAL DE PALENCIA

Conocida como “La Bella Desconocida”, dispone de estructuras que nos permiten viajar desde la época visigoda hasta el Renacimiento. La cripta de San Antolín de Palencia es de época visigoda, del siglo VII; del primitivo templo románico queda poco, tan solo algunas columnas, pues las obras principales comenzaron en el siglo XIV, en estilo gótico, la torre sobresale por su austeridad, sobresale más el suntuoso trascoro, de estilo plateresco, construido por el obispo Fonseca.

VISITA: Horario de verano (mayo-septiembre) es de 10:00-13:00 y 16:00-19:00; y el de invierno (octubre-abril) es de 10:00-13:30 y 16:30-19:00 h. la entrada a la catedral es 1,50 €; catedral y museo son 2 € y la visita guiada son 3 €.

CATHEDRAL OF PALENCIA

Known as “The Beauty unknown”, it has structures that allow us to travel from the Visigothic times to the Renaissance. The cript of San Antolín of Palencia is from Visigothic era, of 6 th century; of the ancient Romanesque temple there is a little, only a few columns, because the main works began in the 15 th century, in Gothic style, the tower excels by its austerity, highlight more the sumptuous back-choir, of Plateresque style, built by the bishop Fonseca.

VISIT: Summer timetable (May-September) is from 10 am to 1 pm and from 4 pm to 7 pm, and the winter (October-April) is from 10 am – 1 pm and 4,30 pm - 7 pm. The rate to catedral is € 1,50; cathedral and museum are € 2 an the guided tour is € 3.

IGLESIA DE S. MIGUEL – PALENCIA

La iglesia de San Miguel de Palencia es un original templo de estilo románico y gótico, fachada abocinada, gruesos contrafuertes y una alta torre calada de arcos góticos coronada con almenas. Conserva algunas vidrieras góticas.

VISITA: Entrada gratuita: 9:30-13:30 y 18:00-20:00 horas

CHURCH OF S. MIGUEL - PALENCIA

The church of San Miguel of Palencia is an original temple of Romanesque and Gothic style, flared façade, thick buttresses and a tall tower with Gothic arches crowned with battlements. It conserves some gothic glass windows.

VISIT: Free admission: 9:30-1:30 and 6:00-8:00 hours.

CRISTO DEL OTERO – PALENCIA

El Cristo del Otero o Sagrado Corazón de Jesús es una gran escultura obra del escultor palentino Victorio Macho, se ubica en un gran cerro a las afueras de Palencia, la obra data de (1930), a los pies del monumento se erigió una ermita y un museo, delante de la ermita hay un mirador para contemplar Palencia.

VISITA: Acceso gratis. Horario de verano (23 de marzo a 14 de octubre), viernes de 17:00-20:30, sábados de 10:30-14:00 y 17:00-20:30 y domingos 10:30-14:00, horario de invierno (20 de octubre a 18 de marzo), sábados de 10:30-14:00 y de 16:30-20:00 y domingos de 10:30-14:00.

CHRIST OF EL OTERO – PALENCIA

The Christ of El Otero or Sacred Heart of Jesus is a great sculpture by the sculptor Victorio Macho from Palencia, it is located on a large hill outside Palencia, the work dates from (1930), at the foot of the monument a hermitage and a museum were erected, in front of the hermitage there is a viewpoint to contemplate Palencia.

VISIT : Free access. Summer time (March 23 to October 14), Friday from 5 pm to 8,30 pm; Saturdays from 10,30 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 8,30 pm and Sundays 10,30 am to 2 pm; winter timetable (October 20 to March 18), Saturdays 10,30 am – 2 pm and 4,30 – 8 pm and Sundays 10,30 am to 2 pm.

IGLESIA DE S. LAZARO – PALENCIA

La iglesia de San Lázaro de Palencia es una iglesia de estilo gótico, muy alterado por obras más modernas; en el siglo XI, pudo ser hospital de peregrinos, fue reformada en el siglo XIV quedo en ruinas; más tarde fue completamente restaurada en el siglo XVI, momento en el cual se hizo el retablo mayor de estilo plateresco.

VISITA: Antes y después de las misas. Laborables a las 12:00 y 20:00 y festivos a las 12:30, 13:30 y 21:00.

CHURCH OF S. LAZARO – PALENCIA

The church of San Lazaro of Palencia is a church of Gothic style, very altered by modern works; in the 11 th century it could be a hospital for pilgrims, it was reformed in the 14 th century, it remains in ruins; later it was completely restored in the 16 th century, at which time was made the plateresque style altarpiece.

VISIT: Before and after the Masses. Weekdays at 12:00 and 8:00 pm and holidays at 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm and 9:00 pm.

IGLESIA DE Nª. Sª DE LA CALLE

La iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Calle o iglesia de la Compañía, de Palencia, es una iglesia del siglo XVI, erigida por los jesuitas, la fachada es muy sobria con aire escurialense, mientras en el interior destaca el retablo mayor, obra barroca, con influencia rococó, es del siglo XVIII.

VISITA: Antes y después de las misas. Horario de verano (20 junio – 30 de septiembre) laborables a las 9:30, 11:00, 12:30 y 19:30; festivos a las 10:30, 13:30 y 19:30; invierno (1 octubre a 19 de junio), laborables a las 9:30, 11:00, 12:30 y 19:30, y festivos de 10:30, 12:30 y 19:30.

CHURCH OF Nª. Sª. DE LA CALLE

The church of Our Lady de La calle o iglesia de La Compañia, of Palencia, is a church of the 16 th century, erected by the Jesuits, the facade is very sober with Escorial influence, while the inside highlights the main altarpiece, a Baroque work with Rococó influence, it is from the 18 th century.

VISIT: Before and after the Masses. Summer timetable (June 20 – September 30) working at 9:30, 11:00, 12:30 and 7:30 pm; holidays at 10:30, 13:30 amd 7:30 pm; winter timetable (October 1 to June 19), working days at 9:30, 11:00, 12:30 and 7:30 pm and holidays from 10:30, 12:30 and 7:30 pm.

DIPUTACIÓN PROVINCIAL – PALENCIA

El edificio de la Diputación Provincial de Palencia es un edificio de estilo neoclásico y barroco, erigido en el siglo XX, obra del arquitecto palentino Jerónimo Arroyo. En la fachada pueden verse 3 cuerpos, con 3 arcos de medio punto, balcón corrido con 3 grandes puertas y frontón triunfal.

VISITA: Solo el exterior

PROVINCIAL DIPUTATION – PALENCIA

The building of the Provincial Council of Palencia is a neoclassical and baroque building erected in the 20 th century, the work of the architect Jerónimo Arroyo from Palencia. On the facade you can see 3 bodies, with 3 arches, a balcony with 3 large doors and a triumphal pediment.

VISIT: Only the outside.
