El arco de la Paz es una entrada de la muralla de Palenzuela, que conserva algunos muros de sillarejo, la muralla tiene un grosor de 2 metros, y aparece y desaparece entre las casas del pueblo.

ARCH OF LA PAZ – PALENZUELA

The arch of La Paz is an entrance of the wall of Palenzuela, that conserves some walls of rubblework, the wall has a thickness of 2 m (6,56 ft), and it appears and disappears among the houses of the town.

CASTILLO MEDIEVAL – PALENZUELA

El castillo de Palenzuela se encuentra en estado ruinoso, se conservan restos de 3 torres cuadradas de barro. El castillo es mencionado ya en el siglo IX, y en el siglo X estaba en manos del conde de Castilla.

MEDIEVAL CASTLE – PALENZUELA

The castle of Palenzuela is in ruinous condition, remains of 3 square mud towers are preserved. The castle is mentioned already in the 9 th century and in the 10 th century it was in the hands of the Count of Castile.

El puente medieval de Palenzuela es un puente con 9 arcos, sabemos que en el Medievo se doto de fortificaciones para mejorar la defensa de la villa de Palenzuela frente a ataques de enemigos.

The medieval bridge of Palenzuela, is a bridge with 9 arches, we know that in the Medieval Age it was equipped with fortifications to improve the defense of the town of Palenzuela against enemy attacks.

IGLESIA Sª. EULALIA – PELENZUELA

La iglesia de Santa Eulalia de Palenzuela, se erigió en estilo Gótico, tiene 3 naves, fachada abocinada, en su torre cuadrada y almenada hubo un reloj; en el siglo XIX fue abandonada y hoy esta en ruinas.

VISITA: Acceso libre – Zona con escombros no apta para silla de ruedas, pero podrás acercarte mucho.
   

CHURCH OF Sª EULALIA – PALENZUELA

The church of anta Eulalia of Palenzuela, was erected in Gothic style, has 3 naves, flared façade, in its square and battlemented tower there was a clock; in the 19 th century it was abandoned and today it is in ruins.

VISIT: Free access – Debris area not suitable for wheelchait, but you can get close.
 
 

IGLESIA DE S. JUAN – PALENZUELA

La iglesia de San Juan Bautista de Palenzuela es de estilo gótico tardío y se data entre los siglos XIV y XVII, las 3 naves de esta iglesia se cubren con bóveda de crucería estrellada; en su interior se puede admirar una amplia colección de retablos y sepulcros.

CHURCH OF S. JUAN – PALENZUELA

The church of San Juan Bautista of Palenzuela is a late Gothic style building and dates from the 14 th and 17 th centuries, the 3 naves on this church are covered with starry ribbed vault; inside you can admire a wide collection of altarpieces and tombs.

IGLESIA DE S. JUAN DE BAÑOS

Dispone de cabecera tripartita, con capillas absidiales independientes, unidas en el siglo XV, por fábrica gótica; la ornamentación es romana (reaprovechada) y visigoda, estuvo cubierta de jaspes y pórfidos hasta el siglo XVI, cuando se retiraron estos ornamentos; además, cuenta con un curioso narthex o pórtico, que hará fortuna en iglesias prerrománicas y mozárabes. La Iglesia de San Juan de Baños (Baños de Cerrato) es de cronología visigoda (siglo VII), curiosamente es la única iglesia visigoda con lápida fundacional.

   

CHURCH OF SAN JUAN DE BAÑOS

It has a tripartite head, with independent apse chapels, united in the 15 th century by Gothic factory; The ornamentation is Roman (reused) and Visigoth, was covered with jasper and porphyry until the 16 th century, when these ornaments were removed; in addition, it has a curious narthex or portico; that was very used in pre-Romanesque and Mozarabic churches. The church of San Juan de Baños (Baños de Cerrato) is of Visigoth Chronology (6 th century), curiously its the unique Visigoth church with a foundation inscription.

 
 

VISITA: Entrada general 2 €. Horario de verano (abril-septiembre) es de 10:30-14:00 y de 16:50-20:00, el horario de invierno es de martes a domingo de 11:00-14:00 y de 16:00-18:00; el lunes cierra.

ACCESO: Se accede por la N-620, en la que se encuentra Venta de Baños, tomándose la PP-1224 dirección a Baños de Cerrato.

ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS: Hay un escalón a la entrada.
   

VISIT: General rate € 2. Summer timetable (April-September) is from 10,30 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm; winter time is from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 6 pm; on Monday it closes.

LOCATION: It is accessed by the N-620, where is located Venta de Baños, taking the PP-1224 direction Baños de Cerrato.

ACCESS FOR THE HANDICAPPED: It has a step at the entrance.
 
 

FUENTE DE RECESVINTO – BAÑOS

La Fuente de San Juan o fuente de Recesvinto es una antigua fuente que ofrecía agua saludable, desde tiempos muy remotos, en época romana hubo aquí un templo dedicado a Esculapio, después es conocida la historia de Recesvinto que recupero la salud con el agua de esta fuente. Arquitectónicamente destacan sus 2 arcos de herradura, es una rara muestra de arquitectura civil prerrománica.

FOUNTAIN OF RECESVINTO – BAÑOS

The fountain of San Juan or Recesvinto fountain is an ancient fountain that offered halthy water, since ancient times, in Roman times there was a temple here dedicated to Aesculapius, after the history of Recesvinto is known that recovered health with the water of this fountain. Architecturally, its 2 horseshoe arches stand out, it is a rare example of pre-Romanesque civil architecture.
