COLEGIATA DE S. MIGUEL – AGUILAR

Un interesante monumento es la Colegiata de San Miguel con estructuras románicas, góticas y renacentistas; se sabe que el origen del templo se remonta a época visigoda, la construcción podría remontarse al siglo XIV; es muy notable la cabecera poligonal de estilo gótico, dentro sobresalen las bóvedas de crucería y el retablo renacentista.

VISITA: Horario de verano (11 de mayo a 18 de noviembre) de martes a viernes (10:15-14:15 y 16:16-20:15), sábados, domingos y festivos (10:15-20:15), lunes cerrado. Tarifa 5€.

An interesting monument is the Collegiate church of San Miguel with Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance structures; it is known that the origin of the temple dates back to the Visigoth period, the building could go back to the 14th century; it is very remarkable the polygonal head of Gothic style, incide the ribbed vaults and the Renaissance altarpiece stand out.

VISIT: Summer time (May 11 – November 18) from Tuesday to Friday (10:45 – 2:15 and 4:15 – 8:15), Saturdays, Sundays and holidays (10:15 – 8:15), closed Monday. Rate €5.

PALACIO LOS MARQUESES – AGUILAR

El Palacio de los Marqueses de Aguilar de Campoo, es un bonito edificio que data del siglo XVI, el edificio tiene 2 plantas y un largo soportal, de arcos de medio punto sobre gruesas columnas, la parte superior dispone de 2 escudos; la parte trasera da a un jardín. La población tiene además, casas solariegas y palacetes.

VISITA: Solo el exterior.

PALACE OF LOS MARQUESES – AGUILAR

The Palace of Los Marqueses of Aguilar de Campoo, is a beautiful building that dates from the 16 th century, the building has 2 floors and a long arcade, with arches on thick columns, the upper part has 2 shields, the back part faces has a garden. The town also has ancestral homes and mansions.

PUERTA DE REINOSA – AGUILAR

La puerta de Reinosa de Aguilar de Campoo es tan solo una de las puertas de la muralla medieval que tuvo Aguilar en época Medieval, aunque la muralla puede remontarse al siglo XII o XIII, la guerra fraticida de la época de Pedro I, supuso su reconstrucción casi total en el siglo XIV. Conserva Aguilar varias puertas como la de Reinosa (con inscripción hebrea), la del Paseo Real, la Tobalina, el Portazgo, la Cascajera, San Roque y la del Beaterio.

VISITA: Solo el exterior.

GATE OF REINOSA – AGUILAR

The gate of Reinosa of Aguilar de Campoo is only one of the doors of the Medieval wall that Aguilar had in Medieval times, although the wall can be traced back to the 12 th or 13 th centuries, the fraticidal war of the time of Pedro I, supposed its reconstruction almost total in the 14 th century. Aguilar preserves several doors such as Reinosa (with Hebrew inscription), the Paseo Real, The Tobalina, The Portazgo, The Cascajera, The San Roque and The Beaterio.

CASTILLO DE AGUILAR DE CAMPOO

En un gran cerro podemos contemplar en lo alto el castillo y en la falda del cerro a la ermita de Santa Cecilia. El castillo es una fortaleza medieval, solar de un antiguo castro cántabro, que estaba conectado con una muralla; la puerta de Reinosa tiene inscripciones muy curiosas una en hebreo y castellano.

CASTLE OF AGUILAR DE CAMPOO

In a large hill we can see in the top, the castle and in the slope of the hill the hermitage of Santa Cecilia. The castle is a Medieval fortress, the floor of a Cantabrian hillfort, that was connected with a wall; The door of Reinosa has very curious inscriptions in Hebrew and Castilian.

IGLESIA DE Sª. CECILIA – AGUILAR

La iglesia de Santa Cecilia es un edificio del siglo XII, de estilo románico, tiene tres naves con bóvedas de crucería, la torre de gran altura es típica del románico tardío, fachada abocinada con arquivoltas, es interesante destacar los bonitos capiteles de temática vegetal y animales fantásticos.

CHURCH OF Sª CECILIA – AGUILAR

The church of Santa Cecilia is a building of the 12 th century, in Romanesque style, has 3 naves with ribbed vaults, the high-rise tower is typical of late Romanesque, flared facade with archivolts, it is interesting to highlight the beautiful capitals of vegetal themathic and fantastic animals.

		MONASTERIO DE Sª. MARIA - AGUILAR El monasterio de Santa María la Real de Aguilar de Campoo, es de estilo románico-gótico. La iglesia tiene 3 naves y se data en el siglo XIII, es un edificio muy sobrio. El claustro con arcos góticos es del siglo XIII. Hoy en día es sede del Centro de Estudios del Románico. VISITA: El horario para el monasterio es de martes a viernes de 16:00-19:00, sábados, domingos y festivos es de 10:30-14:00 y de 16:30-19:30. 		ACCESO A AGUILAR A Aguilar de Campoo se accede por la A-67 o la N-611, que conectan Santander y Palencia. Coger la salida 103 en la A-67, y seguiremos los carteles para Aguilar de Campoo. Entramos por la calle principal y veremos el cerro del castillo, aparcando donde podamos. ACCESO DE MINUSVÁLIDOS Los usuarios de sillas de ruedas podrán visitar la ermita con facilidad, no así el castillo, que tiene una fuerte rampa y camino muy irregular. La muralla y sus puertas son fácilmente visitables, también es factible la visita a la colegiata y al monasterio de Santa María.				ACCESS TO AGUILAR: Aguilar de Campoo is accessed by the A-67 or the N-611, which connect Santander and Palencia. We recommend exit 103 on the A-67, and follow the signposts for Aguilar de Campoo. Enter by the main street and we will see the hill of the castle, parking where we can. ACCESS FOR HANDICAPPED Wheelchairs users will be able to visit the hermitage easily, but not the castle, which has a strong ramp and very irregular road. The wall and its doors are easily visited, it is also feasible to visit the collegiate church and the monastery of Santa Maria.

		ERMITA DE (OLLEROS DE PISUERGA) La ermita dispone de un curioso atrio de entrada y en su interior destacan sobre todo las bóvedas de cañón, ábsides y columnas de la estructura, la cueva sirvió de protección a multitud de cristianos que se sintieron perseguidos en los difíciles tiempos de la Reconquista. VISITA: El horario de verano es de 11:00-14:00 y 17:00-20:00, teléfono 979.122.385. ACCESO: Olleros de Pisuerga esta al sur de Aguilar de Campoo, junto a la A-67. La ermita se ubica al NW del pueblo, se recomienda la visita por la tarde (por la iluminación). ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS: Acceso no factible al interior.				HERMITAGE OF OLLEROS DEL PISUERGA The hermitage has a curious entrance atrium and in its inside we stands out the barrel vaults, apses and columns; the cave served to many Christians who felt persecuted in the difficult times of the Reconquest. TORRE EXENTA - OLLEROS

En Olleros de Pisuerga junto a la ermita lo más visible es torre exenta que se data en el siglo XII, de estilo románico. También en las inmediaciones puede verse una necrópolis rupestre con tumbas ovaladas, trapezoidales y antropomorfas.

EXEMPT TOWER – OLLEROS

In Olleros of Pisuerga, next to the hermitage, the most visible is an exempt tower dating from the 12 th century, in a Romanesque style. Also near you can see a rock necropolis with oval, trapezoidal and anthropomorphic tombs.

		IGLESIA DE SANTA MARIA DE MAVE Es un bello monasterio benedictino, de original piedra roja arenisca, con elegante cabecera de 3 ábsides, bóveda de cañón de sillería, bellísimos capiteles, pila bautismal casi lisa etc… Es una iglesia románica, con origen altomedieval del siglo IX, pero al ser románica es del siglo XIII. VISITA: Entrada general 5 €, horario de verano (julio-16 septiembre) de lunes a domingo es de 10:30-14:00 y 16:30-20:00; mientras el horario de invierno (17 septiembre a junio) es de martes a viernes de 16:00-19:30, sábado, domingo y festivos es de 10:30-14:00 y de 16:30-19:30, cierra el lunes. ACCESO: Se ubica junto a Olleros de Pisuerga en la A-67, al sur de Aguilar de Campoo, desde Olleros sale el camino hacia Mave. ACCESO PARA MINUSVÁLIDOS: Acceso factible para sillas de ruedas.				CHURCH OF SANTA MARIA DE MAVE It is a beautiful Benedictine monastery, of original red sandstone stone, with elegant head of 3 apses, barrel vault of ashlar, beautiful capitals, baptismal pile almost smooth etc... It is a Romanesque church, with a Early Medieval origin from 9 th century, but like is Romanesque dating of 13 th c. VISIT: General tax € 5, summer opening hours (July – September 16 th ) from Monday to Sunday is from 10,30 to 2 and 4,30 to 8 pm; while the winter timetable (September 17 th to June) is from Tuesday to Friday from 4 pm to 7,30, Saturday, Sunday and holidays is from 10,30 to 2 and from 4,30 to 7,30, close Monday ACCESS: It is located next to Olleros de Pisuerga on the A-67, south of Aguilar, from Olleros the road goes to Mave.
