TORRES DE OESTE (CATOIRA)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

En origen en el siglo XII tuvo 7 torres con un recinto de forma elíptica, las torres son de sillarejo irregular, con almenas. También podemos ver la capilla de Santiago del siglo XII. El castillo de Catoira ha sido objeto de varias intervenciones arqueológicas. Se data entre los siglos XIII-XV.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

El acceso a las torres de Oeste es gratis, no hay que pagar entrada.

TOWERS OF OESTE (CATOIRA)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

In origin in the 12 th century, it had 7 towers with an enclosure of elliptical form; the towers were made by irregular masonry, with battlements. Also we can see the Santiago's chapel from 12 th century. The castle of Catoira has been the object of several archaeological interventions. It dates between 13 th and 14 th centuries.

PUENTE DE BERMAÑA (CALDAS DE REIS)

El puente del río Bermaña es romano del siglo I d.C., construido en sillería, tiene 3 arcos de medio punto, decorado además con el típico cruceiro gallego.

BRIDGE OF BERMAÑA (CALDAS DE REIS)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The bridge of the Bermaña River is Roman, from 1 st century AD. Built in ashlar, has 3 semiciruclar arches, also decorated with the typical Galician crucero (cross on a column).

COMPLEJO DE PETROGLIFOS (CAMPO LAMEIRO)

INFORMACIÓN HISTÓRICO-ARTÍSTICA

La abundancia y variedad de petroglifos es muy notable, en casi todas las parroquias del término municipal, hay petroglifos. Datados en la Edad del Bronce.

En el Parque Arqueológico tienes un itinerario de visita señalizado con paneles explicativos. Hay reconstrucciones de cabañas, simulando un poblado.

COMPLEX OF PETROGLYPHS (CAMPO LAMEIRO)

HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC INFORMATION

The abundance and variety of petroglyphs is very remarkable, in almost all the towns of the municipal area, there are petroglyphs. Dated in the Bronze Age.

In the Archaeological Park you have an itinerary tour signposted with explanatory signposts. There are reconstructions of huts, simulating a village.

Horario de 10:00-18:00 (Septiembre-Octubre y Marzo-Mayo), de 10:00-15:00 (Noviembre-Febrero), de 10:00-20:00 (Junio) y de 11:00-21:00 (Julio-Agosto), lunes cerrado, taquilla cerrada una hora antes del final de la visita. Entrada general 4,50 €.

PAZO DE OCA (A ESTRADA)

INFORMACIÓN-HISTORICO-ARTÍSTICA

El complejo cuenta con pazo (palacio), capilla, viviendas de los trabajadores y una iglesia; todo se data entre los siglos XVII y XVIII. Es el perfecto modelo de palacio barroco en Galicia, con jardines de gran belleza, en los que sobresale la alta variedad de camelias.

ENTRADAS Y HORARIOS

Horario de verano (abril-octubre) de 9-20:30 horas y el de invierno (noviembre-marzo) de 9 a 19:30; taquilla cerrada 30 minutos antes del final de la visita. Entrada 4 €.

PAZO DE OCA (A ESTRADA)

The complex has a pazo (palace), a chapel, worker's homes and a church; everything dates between 17 th and 18 th centuries. It is the model of Baroque palace in Galicia, with gardens of great beauty, in which the high variety of camellias stands out.

Summer time (April-October) from 9am to 8,30 pm and winter time (November-March) from 9am to 7,30 pm; last admission is 30 minutes before clossing. Amission € 4.

UBICACIÓN - CALDAS

CATOIRA: Desde la N-550 o AP-9 (Santiago-Pontevedra) o bien desde la AG-11 (vía Padrón - A Pobra do Caramiñal) hay cartelería para ir a Catoira y en el pueblo hay cartelería para las “Torres do Oeste”. En Catoira las torres se ubican junto al río Ulla y al puente que cruza la ría. Hay un buen aparcamiento. La romería del primer domingo de agosto, colapsa la zona, pues la gente quiere ver la recreación de un asalto vikingo y ello congrega a gran número de visitantes.

CALDAS: Se ubica en Caldas de Reis, en el centro, por donde pasa el camino jacobeo portugués.

CAMPOLAMEIRO: Acceso por la N- 541 (Orense-Pontevedra), o por N-550 (Pontevedra-Santiago). A la entrada de Campolameiro hay cartelería para acceder al Parque Arqueológico, con aparcamiento.

PAZO DE OCA: Desde Santiago de Compostela coge la carretera de Orense N-525, hay cartelería.

LOCATION - CALDAS

CATORIA: From the N-550 or AP-9 (Santiago-Pontevedra) or from the road AG-11 (Padrón-A Pobra do Caramiñal) there is a signage for the towers of Oeste. In Catoira de towers are located next to the river Ulla and the bridge that crosses the estuary. Catoira has a good parking. The pilgrimade of the first Sunday of August, collapses the area, because people want to see, the recreation of a Viking assault and this congregates a large number of visitors.

CALDAS: It is locates in the historic center of Caldas de Reis, where the Portuguese Jacobean way passes.

CAMPOLAMEIRO: Access by the N-541 (Orense-Pontevedra), or by N-550 (Pontevedra-Santiago). At the entrance of Campolameiro there is signage for the Archaeological Park, where there is a parking.

PAZO DE OCA: From Santiago de Compostela take the Orense road (N-525), there are signposts.
